Definitely they were Canada's two best players but if Hull had played then Henderson probably would not have. Henderson scored the game winners in games 6, 7 and 8. So it seems strange to say, but maybe Canada was better off not having Hull play.
@rossonphillips

@@stumarston6812 Interesting perspective and yes Paul was the magic man. Although I wonder how Tretiak would have dealt with Hull's cannon with the piddly protection the goalie's had back then. I remember when the Jets beat that same Russian team in '76 Hull played that game like a man possessed!

I watched him in Chicago stadium from 1962 to 1970, and he was awesome. His speed, especially considering the skates at that time, I feel would be unsurpassed today, and remember he was strong! As even Gordie Howe said, Bobby was very hard to knock off the puck. I remember him busting the plexiglas with a wood stick.

How so? Why was he ignorant? He loved Canada and was outspoken about it. He was passionate about the love of his country and implored immigrants to share that passion of love. For them to embrace the concept of being a fellow citizen.......a fellow brother or sister.
