Any bass with the ability to hit subharmonics needs to try this. It seems like an easy line but is NOT. I can normally hit a C1 every single time, but something about the descent of this line and phonation at the end makes it difficult. Took me over 20 tries to hit it once.

Agree, I think it's even harder for me cuz I will have to hit the C2 in subs then A1 to G1 in subs too and switch to chest-fry-subs to hit a C1

My brotha, you can reach a C1 in subs? Mind sharing some? 😢C1 though isn't really my priority right now, i'm trying to get that stubborn E1 to come out consistently, even though i consistently have a D2 in chest, which means i have the comfortable room for the E2. I just don't understand, F1 comes easy, but E1 feels so far even if it is just a semitone apart. Practice, practice, practice i guess.

C1 is the lowest note I can more-or-less reliably hit in 2nd subs. F1/E1 in first subs. Actually, this particular decent goes very well with second subs, because the last note is a perfect 5th below the previous (G1 C1) so you don't have to change the fundamental, but go A2 G2 G2 in notes you are "actually singing". Basso-profondo wannabes are satisfied)

Interesting how it just takes a second voice to make low notes sound *much* thicker.

Some people can go really low in chest fry peter barber is a bass and he hit Bb negativ 1 so a tenor could realistically hit C1

do you mean enlighten me on "chest-fry" and on "subs" or "chest-fry subs"? If you are talking about "chest-fry subs," they are just like notmal subs, but the fundamental note is on vocal fry register instead of it being a chest note. Head voice subs are also possible. Whistle tone subs should also be possible, but I've never heard of them

They have very similar ranges I think both of their lowest ever chest notes were F1 and i heard both of them hit A1 without morning voice and bobbys note was recorded on a phone and not a profesional mic like geoffs note so I think bobby can make that sound pretty good to

Geoff is not a Bass-Baritone. He is easily a Bass, but a Basso Cantante. No Bass Baritone is singing a chest F#1 unless they get lucky when sick. It just doesn't happen.
