These guys are just killing it! Saw them in Madison on Feb 28, and I was just blown away. The playing, the sound... all of it! I swear the sound was 3-dimensional at times! Kudos to the venue and the soundman (who we were standing right behind)

This reader\editor would change your lede slightly: "These players are just living it!" Instead of "guys are just killing it." Real good. Love Bobby but the elehant in the room is that tinny, shrill guitar tone. So many have commented elsewhere so he must know and actually want this tone?! Bring back that deep tone, sweet tone he had in the 70s especially since hes attempting some lead now!
@LostMyDayJob
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think it's safe to say he has his tone set the way he wants. I know it's a sticking point for a lot of people, I guess maybe I've just listened to enough of it that I don't mind it. Sometimes it works really well against the warm tones in this band especially, between the pedal steel and the Wolfpack there is a lot to play off.
@RobertMcEntee
Жыл бұрын
@@LostMyDayJob good insights, yes thankfully with the horns etc it's covered, before Wolf Bros had them it stood out more. But as a player myself I know his tone could so easily be improved!

They need a lead guitarist in addition to the pedal steel... Or just a different guitarist 🤦♂️😔 I know it's Bobby's gig and his band's tunes, but they'd sound absolutely wonderful with Billy Strings instead... Both vocally and musically. I don't enjoy having this opinion. I can't listen to it tho... Even with a different guitarist it's just not for me. I very much prefer original GD, D&C, JRAD, Billy & The Kids, Grateful Shred, and Mikaela Davis & Southern Star (who also have a pedal steel).

@@LostMyDayJob This seems to be the standard Wolf Pack configuration: Alex Kelly (cello), Brian Switzer (trumpet), Adam Theis (trombone), Mads Tolling (violin), and Sheldon Brown (woodwind).
