Great stuff!!!! You really captured the diligence and quality of your dogs. As always, you leave us wanting more. How many miles on the hoof to get that cat? And when I saw the dogs hit the river I expected to hear you call them back! Were you able to cross or did you have to go around?
@feenerproductions
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Shane, every hunt is different, Rip did about 8 or 9 miles that day. The rivers and streams are always a concern but that section is dead water and was froze really well. We’ve had poor snow conditions this year so the fact that the dogs could get it going impressed me, they worked hard.

Now that sounds like something I would be interested in doing . I've trapped a few cats as a boy . Mean critters to big 50 60 lbs cats and smaller one that were prim fur . But at 15 years old I thought I was Daniel Boon Davie Croket and Kit Carson all rolled up in to me . Anyway thats my all time favorite varmint to hunt . Big Like at 58 on your channel !

Glad you liked it Richard, 50-60 lbs is a big cat. We really enjoy going after them with our dogs but we are constantly humbled.

I was always under the impression that you needed more dogs? how far does will a cat run? Have you’ve had success running 1 dog? Sorry for all the questions.. thanks
@feenerproductions
Жыл бұрын
@@lanceadams1886 All good questions, I'm not the most experienced cat hunter but have had success with one dog we've also ran multiple dogs with success. As for how far they go it seems to be just as variable, but I have noticed that once the cat is jumped they don't like to just run but rather circle or evade in other ways.

Why are these hunted again? Food? Population control? Just as trophies?
