Bro I have been nailing the cat this year. On my own bait

Yep, I catch 6 bobcats to every coyote. My guesses as to why. 1. There's a lot of bobcats in my part of Red River county Texas. 2. New to trapping, coyotes less forgiven of mistakes. 3. Too many dirt holes at root balls of dead trees. 4. No flat sets in trails. 5. Bobcats are even dumber than raccoons. (If that's even achievable)

Any photos of the end of the chain before you pound it in the ground? What’s holding it from pulling out? I’m in sand country

Super stakes/earth anchors. They’ll hold an elephant in beach sand.

What does your bottle of Cat Man Do smell like? I have old bottles that smell like castor but the new one I got this year smells like skunk. It’s loud! I’m sure it will probably work but I’m not to happy with the change.

The older they get the more the castor smell seems to come out in them. I’ve noticed that too.

On that particular set, I just put bait in the sheep wool. But I have put gland lure in wool as well.

Are you still using MB450s for the cats?
@CoastalLandWildlifeServices

Yes. I think the one in the intro was in a 550, but 90% of my traps are 450’s
@tjwalker3265

@@CoastalLandWildlifeServices the 450s are by far my favorite traps. I have a ton of red fox where I'm at in Southern Maryland. I'll catch 30-40 reds to every coyote here. Unfortunately we don't have cats here

I want to start trapping but have no land, can I trap on public land or no because someone could step on it? Also what are the best but cheaper traps I can buy. Thanks in advance

Bridger 1.75 are the best starter traps in my opinion. I’m not sure about the public land trapping. I know in SC there’s no public land trapping allowed. Depends on your state and laws. Minnesota Trapline Products is the best place to buy all your trapping supplies. They have starter kits that have everything you need to get going.

But if you want a really good trap that needs no adjustments you could get a half dozen MB450’s and never have to worry about them.
