@in_10z

Man that story of jump progression is about EXACTLY what the hell I went through for probably a full year except instead of the burnt balls, I broke my thumb on an OTB coming down the side of a jump's landing, wiped out my knee once pretty bad, fell forehead-first on to a stump (thank you helmet for saving my life). Lesson learned: get the reps in, ride with people who can progress you, but do it safely and confidently. Easier said than done but I'm 2 years in and finally jumping confidently on gaps and steep boosty faced stuff.

"Don't forget your struggles today are the thing you'll laugh about tomorrow." Dude. I have needed to hear that. I am sitting on my couch right now with a broken collar bone upset that I cannot ride and beating myself up for putting myself in this situation. Not going to lie this shit sucks right now, but I am hoping that this time next year this will just be a funny thing I laugh about.

Progression is awesome. I think if you went to a skatepark with a good box jump and jumped it until you cant hold the bars anymore, it would GREATLY benefit your technique. I see you are immediately leaning back in the air, you need to break that habit as fast as possible. Keep rising that DJ and it will have worlds of benefits in your all around riding and bike handling

Good job on not giving up and getting it done!! I went there last year after watching one of your first videos going there. I saw the jump line and all I could do was barely the easiest line there. After watching your videos I'm finally going to to Bailey mountain bike park next weekend. Thanks for helping me to get the confidence to go there. I love watching your progression. I enjoy watching your learning curve it shows me I can do it also. I road raced cars from 2000 to 2015 and thought about riding mtb to help stay Shape for those long stints in being inside a hot race car. I started riding mtb and love it and gave up racing to try to do the things you are learning, but approaching the half a century old mark makes it a little harder. So keep these great video up.

4:30 shows the problem. You're the same as me, can't pop yet like the dude infront so we just ride fast and push the shit out of it in the air hoping it'll clear the lip. Getting that pop means you can clear it at half the speed and you also transition to the landing better. Only ever done it a couple of times ( by accident at a jump track ) and you get a weightless feeling the whole flight, you're on a parabolic curve like the gravity flights rather than getting thrown in the air and bucked about. That's an addictive feeling.
