Beautiful run! I remember watching the 1984 Winter Olympics from Sarajevo on TV, it was a magical time. The city was beautiful, decked out in colors and modern. I was especially impressed with all the beautiful women walking around and taking part in the ceremonies. Who could imagine that not even 10 years later the city would be laid siege to, reduced to rubble and walking in the wrong place could cost you your life. Through it all the people and city survived, I really hope they could host another Winter Olympics.

Some mates and I used to do this, laying on a skateboard, on a long gentle sloping rural road, sometimes passing the cars. Got clocked by the local cop doing 80kmh. No protection other than a pair of gloves for starting, and to prevent burns from scalding hot bearing lubricant and the trucks at the end of the run. Did this insanity for a about three years, but apparently no Australian Winter Olympics reps Ever drove that road, and the news never got back to them about the bunch of nuts with a speed fetish and death wish, so none of us got picked to go to Sarajevo to ride luge for real. If I was 30 years younger, I’d give this track a go on a simple skateboard.

I just recently walked down this. Funny thing about these things, if you place 2 people on each side of one of these high curves, they can hear each other like they're right next to one another. It's uncanny.
