Beautifully done! And that Gibson ES-125 glows with warmth!

Martijn is really a world class player! His ES-125 was given to him by his late teacher, the great Wim Overgaauw.

I could be wrong-- but it looks like a 1950 - 1952 ES-150 judging by the finish. Looks like it was retrofitted with '59 style tophat knobs, and newer Kluson tuners... or at least new knobs on the old tuners.

I’m his students at the conservatory of The Hague, and if I’m not mistaken he told me it was from 1954.

if you are improvising reading the chords ..the lines are coming from some chordal structure that was already practiced , not from what you feel at the moment. that weird thing is that millions of jazz students do the same in the jazz school and the guitar instructor do the same also, and it sound good.

The thin ES-125's were designated ES-125T. I had an early '60's ES-125, just like what Martijn is playing. They used to be easy to find. Not so much any more. Martijn pulls a nice sound out of his.

I’m pretty certain it’s an es125. The es150 of this era had parallelogram inlays on the neck and light coloured edging around the pick guard. This is almost identical to my ‘53 es125.
