What people don't understand is how just simply being arrested can destroy your life. If you don't have the money to post bail, you sit in jail. You can be fired from your job. Lots of communities have "booking logs" where your arrest is posted online and the next thing you know, your picture is being distributed around on Facebook and everyone decides you must be guilty because you were arrested. So I completely understand why someone would resist being placed in handcuffs, especially when that someone is completely innocent.

One for the rich part of town, and one for literally everywhere else. Despite the fact that the rich police force only resided in and enforced law in the rich district, which was only a space of roughly 10% of the whole city, they had more cops, better equipment, better pay and benefits, and they're own everything. They even had their own separate courthouse and judges. If you didn't live in that neighborhood but just so happened to pass through it, say like your on your way to work, you're almost guaranteed to be pulled over, harassed and ticketed. That was were all the well to do rich folk and politicians lived, including the city mayor and state governor. Those cops were little more than hired muscle, and everyone there knew it. The message was loud and clear: KNOW YOUR PLACE TRASH! If you didn't have money or influence there, you were trash. Plain and simple. The funniest part? I've literally was arrested like this by two cops when I was 18 across the street from my house. Came up to me the same way and when I asked what I was being arrested for they refused to say so of course I resisted like this. Once they cuffed me and put me in the car they did all sorts of tests because they thought I had to be on drugs for it to take 2 officers like 15min to get me down(Was sober and pumped full of that good adrenaline) Then they had the balls to ask why I resisted and told them what would you do if you were being arrested knowing you haven't done anything and not being told why. They had no response just writing. Then get this they tell me what I'm going to jail for they tried to pin me with was resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. The "assault" was because while I was resisting we eventually ended up on the ground and apparently the officers got a couple bad scrapes from the cement. Also had the balls to ask if I was ok. Had to be bailed out by fam no money for anything but a public defender. Wrote a whole letter to the judge saying what happened and that if they charge me I will blow this up. Showed up to court public defender wasn't there and the Judge dismissed the case. Sad thing is this wasn't the last time this has happened. Should have sued both times but I was young 18/19 no money, scared, and the assumption which at the time was pretty accurate people didn't care enough to hear about it

Maybe we shouldn’t be focused on the money that you/we the people will NEVER notice disappearing. You might want to be more focused on an ACTUAL instance of injustice, that you just witnessed. Who cares about the “tab”? You’ll never feel it. This person felt the direct effect of misconduct & That’s more important. You’re allowed your opinion, so please don’t think I’m telling you that you can’t think what you want. I’m simply suggesting a little more empathy for someone who got fucked over. Not a single taxpayer, not you and Not myself, have ever been sent a bill for “Person arrested wrongfully”.

@@HelloTardis I kind of agree with you about empathizing with the victim and focusing on the misjustice but the fact is that part of the reason this keeps happening is because they are not personally responsible , they dont care , they arent personally paying . Also the fact that billions has been spent paying for their continued "mistakes" means that numerous other areas and much needed things that would improve/help/benefit the community are not done , so essentially everyone has to do without because their money/taxes are being used to pay those "bills" . I guarantee if they knew that the first installment on the bill for their mistake would be paid for with their pension they would be far more aware of their actions , of the consequences , and would make far less "mistakes" .
@remus2565

@@HelloTardis You have a good point. But the sad fact in the real world is that some people do not care unless their finances or resources are effected. As long as someone else pays the cost for the error, the perpetrators feel no "weight" to their action. An apology is a cheap way of paying for something, it is only words. If the individual feels no actual pain for the action, it does not matter. Not every human has empathy. We like to think they do and we can weigh some moral repercussions on them, but it simply is not the case. Money and career opportunities are the way to punish those who feel no empathy for their fellow human beings if they break our "social contract". Its like rich people's kids. They can mess up a whole lot, and not care about the consequences, because someone else's checkbook will pay for the mistakes.
