The expanding foam tends to expand the duct tape in a different shape than your actual body. To prevent this, you could embrace a bit more discomfort and make a plaster body cast before you take the tape off. Then when the cast is done, strengthen the two halves up with some fiberglass and resin. Then you can strap it around the duct tape forms before you fill them and the foam will expand to your exact shape! And you have a handy body cast for any future projects!
@hellothere7456

It might be better to stuff the casing up with clothes and cotton etc and then do the plaster casting on that. That way you can just use a boxcutter or craft knife to take off the plaster cast and you won't have to worry about lining up two halves the right way.

I made an xxl doll stand for mine, eliminating the need for holes in the feet. Tennis balls and dowel rods or pvc make great joints. Great stuff foam makes great limbs. Using great stuff foam also eliminates the need for as much skeleton. I love the way you do the Skelton.

They sell painter's suits with feet if you don't want to use socks. LOL. I would have to get help with the taping because I don't have full range of motion with my left arm. Can't reach very far behind my back with it. I would also need help with measuring the distance of my feet and the heights of things because I can't bend very well. LOL. It puts the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again!!! I like this method, although I wouldn't use sika boom. Too fast acting and too expensive. Also, it sometimes shrinks after expanding.

3 жыл бұрын
Lol. Thanks for caring. I guess for some context, I was born/lived the first 20 years of my life in a really "rough" area that most would agree fits the term. My family still lives there, as a matter of fact. When we (myself and my peers) would use the word "ghetto" it was more a nod to the ingenuity we used to make the most out of the limited means we had. No disrespect meant, just part of my vernacular through most of my life that tends to slip out when in conversation. I will try and be more cognizant of the fact that it might make others uncomfortable. Cheers.
