One thing you should have touched upon is that you should dose your insulin to your carb needs, not your carb needs to your insulin like you talked about doing. Thats indeed how you get fat and end up going hypo too easily. Im curious, How would you implement insulin now and how has your view changed on it?

That’s exactly how my views have changed since I posted this video. I’ve realized exactly what you said. Insulin should be used to supplement HIGH carbohydrate intake, not the other way around. I would only implement insulin in the offseason when my daily carb intake exceeds 800-900g. It’s currently around 675.

Ive been doing humalog for the past 2 weeks. I´m taking a much more modest approach to it, and its been working insanely good for me. What I do is Ill have a dose appropriate carb meal about 45-60 mins before heading to the gym. I´d shoot up 3 to 5 IU´s of humalog right before heading into the gym so that it can peak as I´m done warming up. 20 mins after that, so 40 minutes into the workout, I´m having a carb drink to prepare myself for the second spike, that way you do not have to cut your workout short in fear of going hypo. Then I´ll finish my workout, head to my car and instantly inject the next 3-5 IU´s while downing a proteinshake with added carbs. Then I drive home and about 45-60mins after having the shake/carbs, I´ll inject another 3-5 IU´s and have an actual meal with lots of carbs and protein. Then I do not take any more Insulin for the rest of the day and also reduce my carb intake dramatically to keep my sensitivity in check.

I just started Lantus and was thinking of throwing Humalog on some meals. Probably just post. But I've never used anything that spikes. Really nervous. Your thoughts

I looked everywhere couldnt find what I was looking for.I am a type 1 diabetic myself and use humalog anyway.Does Insulin increase protein synthesis or u just look fuller and can u increase training frequency while taking insulin if u recover it from faster(or do u recover faster?).I hope u answer it thank u!

From what I understand you would take insulin pre/post workout because your muscles glycogen stores are being quickly depleted, so if you have a fast acting insulin like humalog in your system it will start to immedately take the bcaas/intraworkout carbs convert it to glycogen and put them right back into the muscle. So if you wait to eat like 70% of your daily carbs intra/post workout you can ensure every little bit of that energy is going to be used to repair muscle which improves recovery which means more muscle

Slin shuttles and stores so if u give it leucine which is responsible for muscle protein synthesis then yes it will do that. Insulin also stimulates mtor which is key in muscle growth and recovery. Insulin also lowers stress hormone after gym so body can asap repair and grow

Insulin promotes nitrogen and mineral retention. Both intra and extra cellular (skin)
