As I was looking in the building's windows, a white van (the stereotypical one we all think about in these situations) pulled up, and a dude leaned out the window and said "What are you doing out here?" With like a kid-friendly smiley demeanor. I said "I'm just waiting for my mom. Her car and her boyfriend (still in the car) is right over there." And he pulled off after I said that. I assumed it was security roaming the perimeter. I assumed that until one day about 20 years later, I realized in all my time as an adult, in all the jobs I've had, I've never seen a place that has security rolling around in white vans, and that guy was probably a pervert. He hadn't been taking any medication when this episode happened and he was in the middle of a psychotic episode. When you look at the video this lines up: most pedophiles or offenders of that nature react like criminals when they're caught, because they ARE criminals - they will lie for their benefit, attempt to mislead in a rational manner, etc. This guy straight up just admits to anything whenever he's pushed - he's asked if he likes kids, he says no, then he's asked again and he says yes - what criminal would just admit to that? He's asked if he asked the boy to go on a boat with him and he freely admits it - why would he admit to that while knowing it makes him look so much worse? It's clear that this guy is just completely disconnected from reality - even the dumbest criminals wouldn't answer questions the way he's doing it, and he's a freaking lawyer at that. I'm guessing some people will say that he was doing this because he somehow knew he would get the light punishment he received...that's not the case. There's no bigger slam dunk for a prosecutor than putting away a pedophile, so it doesn't make sense that they'd just pass him up. The authorities actually gained access to his devices and found no evidence of any child pornography as well. These findings and his medical history are the only reason this guy is able to continue practicing law (he was investigated by the bar association). I feel bad for the guy because this situation clearly looks awful but it seems like he genuinely was in the middle of a psychotic episode where he was disconnected from reality and now his life is ruined. In any case though, thank god for the aware workers at the beach who stopped this situation, because pedophile or not, letting two children stay with a person who is suffering from a psychotic episode is a recipe for disaster.

@@mendmywings7238 short answer to the best of my understanding, you don't. Considering the behaviour though, an actual desire brought to the forefront or not, I wouldn't let my child anywhere near him for a second. Having said that another neorlogical condition has a common misconception attached to it with a similar assumption. A lot of people assume that tourette coprolalia outbursts are what people are thinking about slipping out so something particularly offensive must be what they actually believe. That's not the case. Most of the time it's not even a conscious thought that comes out and even when it is, it's more like something the person does not want to say because they know it to be bad and not what they believe but the stress of worrying about a tic triggers it to happen. Very different conditions though but it's an example that how the brain works and what can occur when connections are crossed or not working correctly can get headachingly complicated really fast. Also worth remembering that as every person is unique, every case in unique. There are common traits and indicators but they are very broad and don't all always apply case to case. On the old DSM-4 I'm an Aspie. DSM-5 it's under ASD with a bunch of other things. The number of people I've interacted with that have asked "are you sure? You seem so expressive and don't talk monotone". I've also had over 40yrs derping from humiliating disaster to humiliating disaster learning new coping stratagies and adapting as I went

I was grabbed & held by a woman when I was in elementary school. I was beyond terrified! I know how this little boy feels & I hope he will be ok sooner than later because this stuff lives in your mind for a long time, especially the "what ifs" that run through your mind! Thank God these kids were able to run away & get help. I am so sick of seeing these SICK FKS getting slaps on their dirty wrists for messing with KIDS!!!!! This needs to change!!! It isn't ok & it will NEVER be ok for an ADULT to be involved with a CHILD!!!

@MsGhost87

@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 Most definitely! That happened to me when I was 9. I have always been a believer in self-defense, especially learning how to handle guns, because Gun Rights are Women's Rights! When you're a child it's different, but I think kids should learn self-defense just as much as adults should. Martial Arts, Jiu jitsu, even kick boxing, boxing, something that will teach you how to protect yourself.

What would a woman do to u? 😅 Legitimate question
@MsGhost87

@@ltsgobrndniagre3endofquote525 Do you mean what DID a woman do to me!? My dog got out before school one morning, so I went looking for him on my bike. When I got to the end of my neighborhood, there was a laundromat on the corner, I would ride my bike through the side where they had a drive up window for people to drop off their clothes etc. Before I entered that area, I seen a woman walking out from there so I asked if she had seen my dog, she said she couldn't hear me so I rode closer to her & asked again, that's when she lunged at me, holding both my hands on my handle bars as she stood over my front tire. She stared into my face saying things no child should hear. I was trying to get away while she yelled, "Hurry up, bring the car!" Someone was waiting for her in the parking lot. I heard a cars engine start up & that's when I got desperate to get away so I leaned with all my might onto my handle bars while she was still holding my hands & we both fell & when my bike flipped up, the back tire hit her on the head. She grabbed my leg but I was able to kick her off & I ran home. I was almost kidnapped is what a woman did to me & from the disgusting things she was saying to me, I don't even want to know who was in that car or what would have happened to me.

Good job to such a brave kid. Probably saved him AND his little brother. And kudos to the owner of that business for acting so diligently. Can’t ever take chances with kids. Either you’re wrong, and it’ll come to light. Or you’re right, and you’ve likely saved a life.

@Noone9227 shut the fuck up lol. he’s a lawyer, his qualifications require extreme comprehension skills & cognitive abilities beyond the average individual. i have bipolar disorder & was misdiagnosed given antidepressants for yrs & they worsen bipolar symptoms, alcohol does too & if I ever drank or had mental break downs, mania, never once did a sick thought of kidnapping a child come to my mind. the man admits to being sexually attracted to kids. he’s competent & very aware during this. bipolar doesn’t make you unaware of ur actions being right vs wrong. thoughts that may be caused by it, are just that. you have the ability & self control to not act on shit you KNOW is sick. this man uses his skills to make sure he couldn’t be charged harsher. he gloats almost bc he knows. stop acting like bipolar ppl are schizophrenic or delusional to the degree you believe this man was 💀 every single person in my life who has it as well untreated, using all types of horrible drugs that enhance symptoms has NEVER harmed anyone or attempted to physically.

I have known 2 people who were bipolar. Both were genuis level smart but absolutely strange and illogical off meds and they were constantly going off meds because of not liking the "numb" feeling they caused mentally or emotionally. One time, one impersonated a doctor and tricked people in a hospital into believing him for a bit just because he got a hold of a white doctor coat. He later said he felt he had to go undercover because the CIA was after him (they weren't.) Neither of these two were a threat to anyone but themselves but I know one other who I swear is bipolar but not treated and he has been in and out of prison his entire adult life for weird stuff like "that person looked at me so I slashed his tires because I knew what he was thinking" or "I knew she wanted me so I broke into her house naked to surprise her (like that's some sort of treat) and ran when she screamed and called the cops" sort of stuff

Parent's shouldn't leave a 10 year old alone, much less in charge of a younger sibling as well. Especially not in a public park full of strangers, plus a place where they could drown. When my kids were 10, I was stuck to them like glue, and they were glad. They didn't want to be alone. So, this is just sad. It's also sad that such a dangerous pervert only got 1 day in jail.
