I see everyone saying that the officers should have told him about the warrant/Hold, I'm sorry but these days i would want him out of the vehicle first, they have no idea if he had a weapon or what he was going to do and he did have a weapon, they want him out of the car to watch every move he makes, its for their safety and that officer wanted his keys cause he knew what could happen and it did... If you do not start teaching your kids to obey and always comply with officers of the law this can be avoided, the traffic stop itself is not the place to argue about your citations, that is for court, if you do not think its fair than just take the ticket and go on your way and then go talk to your lawyer, you will have your day in court, but at the end of the day complying is the way to go....

She said all these instances of police shooting people at traffic stops is bad training.

my understanding is that..... Police officers can generally use deadly force in two circumstances. The most common is when they feel they are threatened with a use of force or a threat of force that would cause serious bodily harm or death. It could be that they are threatened, it could be that another person is threatened. And the other is when someone is fleeing a dangerous crime - when someone has engaged in a crime of violence, and are fleeing and the only way to subdue them is to use deadly force against them.

A warrant or “Pick up and hold warrant “is executed by arresting the defendant. Upon arrest, an officer possessing the original or a duplicate original warrant must show it to the defendant. If the officer does not possess the warrant, THE OFFICER MUST INFORM THE DEFENDANT OF THE WARRANT’S OR HOLD’S EXISTENCE AND OF THE OFFENSE CHARGE and, at the defendant’s request, must show the original or a duplicate original warrant to the defendant as soon as possible. The police failed in informing Cobb of the WARRANT or PICK UP AND HOLD WARRANT… if the cop was honest it would have been a good shooting but he told COBB that he didn’t have a WARRANT OR HOLD… They destroyed the integrity of executing the PICK UP AND HOLD WARRANT ISSUED BY THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT…
