One of my KZitem viewers pointed this common pattern out to me, and I can't believe I haven't made a video about this already! He does truly want to be a father in the worst way, specifically with a girl to raise, so that he doesn't have to face (too many) of his own demons. A really interesting and introspective look on Bojack's relationship with Hollyhock, Sarah Lynn, etc.
I think it definitely does stem from his childhood (as many of his issues do) and his relationship with his mother, most importantly. Their treatment of him reflects in his ultimate goals as a parent and why he puts so much emphasis on having a daughter specifically.
So thanks again to my wonderful, wonderful viewers for making this video possible. Your support means the world to me!
