You are fast becoming my favorite channel. When I was in my 20's as a Police officer I did a lot ot tree work after storms just to assist the families most was just on the ground. I was often paid with a hot meal or a home baked pie. This was the inner city and they had very little to give. I have done some tree work in the air but I was very careful not to do more than I was comefrountable with. I am now 68 the only tree climbing I do is for bow hunting and since I am death in one ear my balance sucks so I am always tied in. Where do you get your equiptment? There are a few things you use that would make me feel much safer in my tree stands.

Great video, couple of questions: 1. why SRT up to the top then down to the bottom if the bulk of the branches don't require rigging? Wouldn't you normally just spur up and cut the branches off along the way to save yourself a trip? 2. What's the spiderjack 3 like? How does it compare to the zigzag? Also sidenote, probably need to tighten the chain on the 372.
@Human1337
6 жыл бұрын
I went up to set my DRT anchor, not a good idea dropping stuff with a basal anchor, and much more comfy/faster than working from just a flipline "to me at least", also I thought I would have to rig more until I found out the construction guys closed off that little street. I absolutely love the spiderjack 3, though it does take some getting used to with the thumb break, like it a bit more than the zigzag, though I love it as well.

Hi there, I have a stihl pole saw and I go through those chains quickly, is there any other brand of chain you know of that better then the stihl chain for my pole saw? I put on a new chain 2 days ago and I couldn't even finish the job with that chain. I'm not cutting any big branches with it, just trimming down my red tip bushes /Photinia that are about 15 feet high in my driveway. I have four chains that are sharp before I use them, but still/stiihl going through the same issues. The chain starts to give out by third bush and beings to smoke as the chain is cutting. There is oil in the saw. I am at a loss for words as to why this is happening. Again, is there a better brand of chain to use? Thank you, Human...
@Human1337

So I'm guessing the chains give out after a days use?
