🙋🏻♀️Be sure to introduce Elvis and the Beatles too. I’m a huge Elvis Fan. Was fortunate to see him live five times. He was beyond anyone I have seen or heard since. Absolutely an incredible experience. I love this song. I fell in love with it when I heard it playing in the background of the movie “ The Judge” Robert Downey Jr. I had to have it. 🌹

I don’t think many will read this, and that’s not the point really. Just wanted to get how much this song means to me into words. I’ve suffered with chronic health anxiety the last couple years and this song means so many different things It’s overwhelming, it’s been there when I’m at my lowest crying at 4am and during better days but it doesn’t allow you to give up and gives sense of hope that’s helping me push through. When Justin said in an interview that he feels this song was given to him by a higher power to share and help people, I really believe it. It’s something that I can well and truly say, will stay with me forever.

I can imagine the catharsis Vernon must have felt at finishing this work of art. There's a melancholic resolution, a sense of underpinning joy. The repetitive picking brings one to a comforting rocking sensation, while the swelling harmonies overwhelm the emotional barometer. I am always so soothed to listen. Now, to actually read all the lyrics.

When my grandfather was hospitalized, I used to put this song on repeat and get nostalgic because of the way the lyrics touched me. My family and I spent Thanksgiving weekend with him and the other patients to brighten their moods since they hardly had any visitors. I played this song for them and they all loved it. My grandpa was really happy and at ease, then passed 4 days later, on the 28th. I listen to this song every day and think of him. Today is my 22nd birthday and I miss him so much.

And at once I knew I was not magnificent, but so was this song. Unearthly beauty! Great video, thank you!

It is incredibly refreshing to see an artist in this new musical epoch who is driven solely by an intrinsic motivation to create something beautiful, regardless of fame and fortune (ahem...Chris Brown). Bon Iver deserves recognition, to be sure, but just look at how Justin responded to his accolades. Whether or not his acceptance speech was contrived or sincere, you can tell that he does what he does first and foremost because he truly loves music, and thankfully we can reap the benefits.

Even though I hold no hope of ever meeting the band who changed my life, I am proud to share a state with Bon Iver. This song, for me, captures the aching beauty of life. It paraphrases how I feel about Wisconsin - it's a beautiful prison that I will carry with me always. That probably has a lot to do with my childhood here, but whenever I hear this song I am reminded that the things you try hardest to escape are the things that are bound to you forever. Bon Iver - thank you.

Your statement is profound I think. I asked my daughter once, "Who do you think raised you?" She replied "The school." I really felt sad and disconnected at that point. The computer world has really desensitized our modern society. Our hearts grow lonely. This song has a way of getting in touch with your soul. Justin Vernon gave us a great gift.
