Rock will never be as good as it was in the 80's. Bon Jovi, Motley Crűe, Van Halen, Scorpions, Alice Cooper's come back, Aerosmith, Journey, etc. That was ROCK! Not the homogenized, whiny crap that is called rock today.

I can definitely relate to this song and video. As a teenager I did my fair share of sneaking around to be with the boy I wanted to be with. Mama and Daddy never approved of anyone I liked until one day when I was 16 years old, a boy with long black rocker hair, who looked like Slash, walked into their house and he was intelligent and polite and could sit and hold a conversation with them. They looked past the hair and ripped jeans etc and that's because he's the only one who showed them the respect they deserved. We stayed together for 3 years. Life took us in different directions but I'm happy to say we're still great friends today at 50 years old. 🤘

In the video, who wasn't thinking in the end, "Run girl! Get away from those hypocrites!" The 80's was a pivotal time for the subject. More & more young people were throwing the whole concept of weddings and just lived together. Now, thankfully, it's no longer taboo. I was raised to be a devout RC. '82 I married w/all the trappings my mom wanted. By '89 I was divorced. In '91, I found my soulmate, we agreed to live together. 2 years later we got married by a JP on the beach. We have our 29th anniversary on 11/20. There are no truer words than when Jon sings, "..wear that ring of diamonds, when your heart is made of stone. You can talk but still say nothing. You stay together but alone" Man, that's not love, that's indifference, and that means it's over. I love this band and IMHO, every song on the album should have hit #1 on all of the charts.

The last few years have not been kind to JBJs voice. Older age and constant touring has caught him. Im not bashing him,,, love him and his stuff,,,, but like happens to all artists who push into their late 50s the vocal chords thicken and they just lose it. All his new stuff is "talking" basically and to see him live and trying the old stuff is painful to watch. Like Paul Stanley of KISS. A for effort but a time comes when you have to admit the past is where the classics will stay,,,,,, oh yeah, in out hearts and memories too.
