Good Review/Shooting! Glad you like your Bond! I have the Patriot and love it! It’s fun trying different grips and barrels! Very versatile & rugged firearm💪🇺🇸!!

How snappy is the recoil in that little guy? I imagine you're using mouse fart cowboy loads in 45 Colt. I love 3" .410 out of my over/under but have never tried the 2.5" handgun loads. Cool piece.

The recoil isn’t as bad as some make it out to be. I’ve heard it called a “knuckle buster”, but I haven’t had any soreness. Yes to the cowboy loads, as it’s what was available, but ideally I’d carry something like a polymer tip Hornady Critical Defense round, if I was loading with 45. For now, I think I’ll use the 3” .410 Winchester PDX1 rounds mentioned in the video since I’m primarily in the woods where precision isn’t as important.

@@FatGuyinaLittleWoods Nice. Here's hoping .410 shells become more available and cheaper than they've been. I'm set up to handload them, but I don't enjoy rolling shotgun rounds as much as metallic cartridges. I don't think the general public recognizes how useful that bore size is.

45lc recoil isnt bad, and i don’t like recoil. i removed the trigger guard and put grip tape on the long wooden grips.

In a MINO scenario (Money Is No Object), I'd get me a Snake Slayer. Or an 1836 Edition. Or... About 2.5 years ago, I bought the Bond Arms Grizzly Bear model (from the "rough" series) as my poor man's "Snake Slayer." I bought it primarily to be my snake gun, for when I'm tramping through the woods on family property or on hiking trails. The Grizzly comes with a 3" barrel chambered in .45 Colt/.410 bore. Because the Grizzly also has the extended grips I chose it over the Rowdy. When I'm not in the woods or on a trail, I swap out the snake shot (I use No. 9 shot) for either .45 Colt hollow points or Hornady Triple Defense shells. I also bought an additional 3" barrel chambered in 9mm, so I have the option of carrying it with the same ammo as my EDC, a Taurus GX4. And since the Grizzly also came with a clip-on holster, that's primarily how I carry it, in cross-draw configuration. But I have pocket carried it, but in a pocket holster. And the same holster that fits my GX4 also fits my Bond Arms Grizzly: the DeSantis Gunhide Nemesis #N38BJE1Z0. The holster covers the trigger guard completely, and it stays in the pocket when I draw out the pistol. Your Snake Slayer is half an inch longer than my Grizzly, but since the same Nemesis holster fits both my GX4 and my Grizzly, I have no doubt it would work for your Snake Slayer as well. Totally agree with you about not putting anything else in the pocket with a gun (except for the holster it's riding in).

Thanks for the info. I’ve recently ordered a belt holster from Harbour Mercantile with bullet loops attached. We’ll see how that works out. I really wish Bond Arms would offer a gun/holster combo with all their guns like they do with the Grizzly

How do you think the ricochet off a floor, ceiling, garbage can, and window sill would be?

@@robertmaxwell3220 that’s a great idea. I actually found a nice one at Harbour Mercantile shortly after making the video. Thanks for the suggestion

i tried two cheaper and lesser-finished rowdy/roughnecks. both couldnt consistently swap barrels. junk. gone. stick with original gen2 models, preferably used to save money. i have three, plus multiple barrels. holsters are easy, i got a few used $5 nylon paddle and $10 remora sticky holsters from the gun store’s bargain bin.
