I feel the more outlandish the Bond movies are, the more they get the next generations hooked. Kids now have such love for science fiction and fantasy, that's why Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker are really good to show kids. Its hard to compete with Marvel and DC movies, so showing a child something fun, silly, and light is the best way to introduce them to Bond. Bond 26 needs to capture kids imaginations and not just have a niche in aiming towards teens and adults. If I remember correctly, Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzmen tried to make their produced pictures aimed for ages and for family demographics.

Although I grew up with Bond, and have seen every film at least twice, but these films get more special to me as I get older - nostalgia I suppose - so I hope they don't wreck it. Cavil would be a great Bond, regardless, IMHO. But what makes Bond so special, as Walliams suggested, is because it usually takes at least two years before a new Bond film is produced. Scarcity is always more compelling - and if Disney or some other corporate entity bought the franchise, it would likely become oversaturated ala Star Wars.

It would be amazing if No Time to Die saved cinema and gave rise to the roaring 2020's. However, judging from the the trailer and the Craig era in general, it looks like a 2 hour and 45 minute downer. It's the first time I have ever had any doubts about a new bond movie being anything less than the best thing ever. We do need some milk chocolate, maybe even some white chocolate with sprinkles on it.

I'd put Goldeneye near the top too, for a number of reasons. DB5 vs 355 race, Sean Bean is my favorite actor and Izabella Scorupco is my favorite Bond girl, it was also the Bond movie where I was coming of age and turning into a adult, before Goldeneye, it was a franchise that dads generation really liked that we had to endure over xmas, here's a Bond that spoke to my generation and got me into the James Bond world, I can now watch the older movies and admire Sean Connery for the legend and style icon he was, rather than, oh, it's a old dated spy movie my dad likes. Goldeneye was also the last "silly" Bond, like that from the Roger Moore days, where he would pretty much look into the camera and do his signature eyebrow raise after saying a bit of innuendo, Brosnan had that too. Bond movies got more serious after Goldeneye. Goldeneye was my favorite Bond film until Skyfall and then about 10 years after it was made, Casino Royale became my favorite. Just one of those weird things, I didn't gel with it at first, then it grew on me.

These opening stories are nice to hear about Pierce Brosnan. He has always been my least favorite Bond. I always found him a bit arrogant (I know...Lazenby...but it's SUCH a good film though, and he was being steered like a falcon on The Tonight Show! He had no idea what was going on.) and I didn't like Brosnan expecting that the role should have been his (I DO know the circumstances around that delay). I was personally more excited about Dalton, as a change of tone and course, and I think he was great, with a Patrick Stewart voice as an added plus! But, I also truly, truly loved Roger Moore, so I didn't really appreciate Brosnan basically impersonating his entire style on Remington Steele for years, but then slagging him off publicly for being less serious than Sean Connery as Bond! So, I've always had some grievances with Pierce Brosnan, but I'm happy to hear some genuine personal good feedback about him!

I saw David Walliams at Britain's Got Talent (my girlfriend got tickets and hey it was fun!) In between set ups for the acts, David made time for all his fans in the audience, signing their copies of his books he'd written, I have to admit he was a class act, also he was wearing a very well tailored suit and you could just tell he was channelling a bit of Bond. I would like to see an Edgar Wright directed Bond film, written by David Walliams.

At 00:37 I love what you say about projection in the context of advertising, and it's a great insight into the mission and 'brand' of The Bond Experience - which celebrates "one moment at a time." I think I used to lament not living like Bond all the time, but I have had genuine Bond moments in my life, and the theme of your channel is a great lens through which to appreciate those moments for what they were. Love it.

Fascinating chat with David. the white chocolate and dark chocolate is a good way of describing the Bonds. Agree about it being important for Bond to be shown in the cinemas a Bond film is an event and we need to keep cinemas alive Steaming a film is just reducing a a big budget movie into a TV experience. The Bond films are all about the bells and whistles the stuff you get before during and after. They also have the best premieres. It'll be interesting to see what happens with No Time To Die and where Bond films go after that. I'm a white chocalate Bond and want more invisible cars that go underwater with double taking sharks. Love Daniel as Bond but am wanting a bit of light relief after going through after this Pandemic.
