Good Evening... From Across the Pond. 👋👋👋👋👋 I loved Dame Maggie Smith in the Prime of Jean Brody. And that song was especially for Maggie. Jean, Jean...What a Beautiful Lady!!! England & U.L. has great actors & actresses. America has a few great actors & actresses too. I thought like Elvis was a great singer & just ok at acting. I'm still glued to Downton Abbey. In fact I have the DVD's. At night when I climb in bed, I turn on Downton Abbey & sleep very peacefully. No sleeping pill is required & wake up the next morning in great spirits. That might be the result of my ancestors coming from England & Ireland.

I LOVED Upstairs Downstairs back in the day. I have always been fascinated with the era of master/servant, and have many wonderful and eye-opening books written by former servants from the early 1900's. They were usually treated well by the upper classes and the aristocracy - it was the middle class 'wannabe's' who treated their (usually only one) servant, like a slave.

Jean Marsh reprised her role as Rose Buck, who became housekeeper of the re-established household. The young Jack Kennedy was in it (his father was the Ambassador to the Court of Saint James) as was the current Duke of Kent's father, Wallis Simpson and others. It was fantastic. I was disappointed that it didn't last beyond 2 seasons. That said, I was addicted to Downton Abbey and couldn't wait for the next episode - and what a great story about the Queen and Catherine sharing their love of Downton! Thank you for sharing that!
