I never really dug skinny wheels. Anywho. Nothing like a chill basic Ollie off some stairs! Takes me back before I learned kickflips in 1988. Yeah I'm a little older. 43 here. Cool session with your son, Ben!

I haven't tried those but I am currently riding a set of MiniLogo 52mm 101a wheels and I'm very surprised on how well they've performed. sure, theyre skinny but Ive been riding them for about 2-3 months and have zero flat spots. they ride well too. great vid.

I've switched a few deck and wheels to feel like I can skate something new in quarantine. I found the f4 99a conical slide when you want to, don't stick out and wear out really, really slow; the stf v5 99a are a bit stickier, the slide is like you have to put more effort into it and they wear out a little faster. Overall on shitty ground are both fine, now I'm on STFs. Much love from Italy Ben ❤️

@@buss1205 both being 99a...but f4s feel way softer than stfs. So they also feel smoother and powerslide easier (a little too easily). Stfs are kinda bouncy and powerslide are not easy at all (a lot of effort).

I've always skated strictly Spitfire F4 cause it's hard to argue that they're not the best but when I saw Bones released a 99a wheel I had to give it a shot. I got these in the V4 and I fucking love them. Probably wont go back to Spitfire for a while. The perfect mix of stick and slide to me and just a nice looking wheel. I live in South Carolina btw so I've never seen smooth ground before.

If you don't use spacers (good) or Bones Race bearings (way better), you definitely should! They make slides really smooth regardless of what wheel you're running because they wont be chattering on your trucks.

i like the more natural color wheels better cuz this time of year, where i live, we got these damn oak tree tassels that fall and spread pollen everywhere. brand new white wheels turn gross yellow in one day. i kinda wish oj would make some of there elite urethane wheels, like the 99a hardlines "unwashed." sick skating! that gap looked super fun, a little big for me but looks nice.

Would be really cool if you reacted to the krux downlow king pin. Idk why but i would like to see you installing them. i had issues due to lack of tools but still managed. It has great kingpin clearance and doesnt hang on smiths and feebles. In your theeves trucks review that you borrowed from your friend he had them on but those trucks arent a great pair with the downlow kingpin.. i have them on thunders and are amazing. they also make the trucks look super cool on thunders.(148) If you are interested you can get them for 8 dollars on nhs or warehouseskateboard.com. see ya later Ben i watch alot of your videos.

I'd maybe try the harder varients if they did them in a natural color like this. I had a bad experience with some STFs some years back(bad flat spots within a week). My friend skates STFs exclusively and they seem to work for him though. I've been hooked on the Formula 4s since I tried them. Best feeling slide and any flat spot I've gotten has been small enough to not be too annoying and would go away with time. It's true that trying a different wheel can almost wreck you though; first time skating the local mini ramp the conical fulls were more grippy than I was prepared for(or maybe they locked in better?). Going down to a 8.62 from a 8.75 almost made me slam too on a 50 revert to fakie. I guess I should just be cautious with any kind of recent change to my setup.

Can someone explain what's with the wheel logos inwards fashion? I never understood why anyone was called a noob of their wheels were facing outward with the logo as they came in the package? Is it something to do with resembling a pre-build skateboard or so something? I personally like the look of the logos also any other colour but white.
