Do you let the crown flatten out at those chicanes or do you jump it up. We typically let the crown flatten out a bit for a better ride when finished

This is what I do with "chicanes" or where the street narrows: The elevation of the crown would remain constant, but the outside lane of the street would be absent.

The work is being done in Alberta, Canada. My number 1 advice to you when you're starting out. "Always look behind you before backing up"

It is a very basic concept. You are just raising "line of sight" up to your eye level. The cross bars are 2cm in diameter, knowing that, you give a very accurate guess. One thing for sure, the batteries will never go dead. Thanks for the input.

I have to admit I got a bit lost in the explaination on how and what you're looking at when "Boning" I figured at the end it was a rough guide to know how close to grade you are. As opposed to the String Line that was more accurate. I've never seen that set up before.

Great vid, Vern! Glad you back at making videos! On one of the future videos maybe worth talking about boning rods in details, kinda from the checkers perspective, that tubing is 2 cm thick, how to align them and where that grade number is coming from. Just a food for thought. Other than that keep on making a great content!
