In 1968 Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs did an album called The Story of Bonnie and Clyde. Tom T. Hall wrote the lyrics and Earl's son Randy played guitar. I believe Randy was 14 at the time. My uncle Harold Dean Pardue gave us this album and we wore it out. To me, it was the best music they ever played. By far the best. Highly recommended. Thank you guys. RIP Lester, Earl and Randy. My dad was a rum 🍹 runner for Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie once bought a pair of short pants 👖 for my older brother. He was about 5 or 6 years old at that time. He told her that he damn sure wasn’t going to wear those sissy pants. When he was older he got so mad about the way one of his uncles was treating his mother 👵🏻 that he would have shot him except he was standing too close to the new refrigerator and he was afraid 😱 he would miss his uncle and shot the new refrigerator instead. 😅😅😅😅😅😅

So Sad.. I've seen this many times.. Every single time, I can say only this. Those two, just tossed their's and others lives away.. I think of the innocent, with family that cared,whom was killed, because of Bonnie and Clyde. Too many people, in this world, wants to take Shortcuts, in life. Often, it ruins not just their lives,but also innocent peoples lives.. Its just not right.. To me, this is more of a nightmare story, then an love story.. Not one good thing, came from their short life. All bad.. If you, Truly Love someone.. The last thing, you will do is, lead them down a path, of destruction and death. Anyone can kill.. But it takes, a special person to Love,Protect and Take Care of others. Doing these things, is what we are supposed to do......
@Head318Hunter

I'm not defending their actions, but at the same time there's a whole lot that you're not taking into consideration. You're very likely not capable of even considering. B&C were a direct reflection of the society they grew up in. They wanted out of the slums at all costs. Clyde was abused in prison in ways you couldn't fathom. He wanted revenge on authority. Bonnie was in love and a follower. The great depression. Perfect recipe. You're only seeing things through your own eyes. You probably never grew up hungry, poor, beaten down. PS this movie is utter BS. The way they met, the dance party in the beginning. TOTAL BS made up by Lifetime TV. BS trying to make B&C into a romantic love story = BS

**Accept Islam Now Becoz**PROPHET MOHAMED**is Prophesied in BIBLE** its a must & compulsory for YOU all to accept ISLAM now because Jesus himself has prophesied PROPHET MOHAMED in bible by title of upcoming ANOTHER COMFORTER and upcoming PRINCE OF THIS WORLD. Read more below and under the law its compulsory for you all to accept ISLAM now !!! *** Revelation 22:7 *** Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book *** ****** PROPHET MOHAMED IN THE BIBLE ****** John chapter 14 verse 16: "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you ANOTHER COMFORTER, that he may abide with you forever." John chapter 14 verse 25: These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you John chapter 14 verse 26: But the COMFORTER which is the Holy Ghost whom the father will send in my name he shall teach you all the things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you John chapter 14 verse 30: Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the PRINCE OF THIS WORLD cometh, and hath nothing in me. John chapter 15 verse 26: "But when the COMFORTER is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me." John chapter 15 verse 27: and ye also shall bear witness because ye have been with me from the beginning John chapter 16 verse 7: "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the COMFORTER will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you". John chapter 16 verse 8: and when he is come he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. John chapter 16 verse 12: I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now John chapter 16 verse 13: Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me. Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Spirit. They fail to realize that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (p.b.u.h) departs then the Comforter will come. The Bible states that the Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time of Jesus (p.b.u.h), in the womb of Elizabeth, and again when Jesus (p.b.u.h) was being baptized, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none other than Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h).The Spirit of Truth, spoken about in this prophecy also refers to none other than Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) Note : All the above references are taken from King James Version ! Note : Ask me any question ! Hence its compulsory for you to ACCEPT ISLAM NOW !!! NOTE : the word jesus christ and word christianity all are man made words not divine real name of jesus christ IS "ESOU" according to original mansuscript of bible which is in hebrew or aramic "Esou" aka jesus who was a jew prophet came only for jews & he never claimed any religion by the name of christianity "MATTHEW 15 : 24 i am not being sent but only unto the lost sheeps of the house of israel" "Esou" aka jesus came to complete the law of the jews which moses brought MATTHEW 5:17 New Living Translation "Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the LAW OF MOSES or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose Hence proved that "Esou" aka jesus was a jew prophet who came for jews only and thats why he has prophesied PROPHET MOHAMED by title of upcoming "ANOTHER COMFORTER" and "PRINCE OF THIS WORLD" for all nations of this world . good movie. it is awful how much suffering /sorrow criminal people inflict on people around them. It is amazing that true love is so powerful. Bonnie and Clyde love prevailed. there is one sentence I take away: " you can't live life one day at a time" It makes me wonder... even cop killers are still very much human. from their perspective, they killed in self defence/survival. once you kill a cop you can't surrender, they would shoot you anyway. clydes brother did not get any medical attention, they held him up to take pictures. I feel sorry for Bonnie. her love for Clyde was stronger then any reasoning. if this is a true story , then some woman love is beyond/to death. I respect Bonnie for that. American woman are special?

Not completely inaccurate, but certainly left things out, and glossed over a lot of others. Painted Bonnie and Clyde in a much better light. They were loyal to a fault, and loved each other deeply, but were so broken by the end.

@musicaltheatergeek79

Clyde (b. March 24, 1910 although his tombstone erroneously reads 1909) had recently turned 24 when he was killed on May 23, 1934. He was less than a year older than Bonnie (b. October 1, 1910), who wasn't so innocent. Growing up in a rough neighborhood, Bonnie was a tough cookie and a bit of a scrapper. She also was a drama queen and show-off. She threw tantrums when she didn't get her way and did whatever it took to get attention. Not surprisingly, she had aspirations to become a famous actress. Bonnie was an accomplice to several armed robberies (including of banks and armories), car thefts, kidnappings, murders (including of cops), Clyde's jail break and later the Eastham prison raid. Yes, she fired a gun several times and knew how to shoot. For example, she took part in the famous Joplin shootout. Toward the end, both B&C were heavily armed and had hand guns hidden on their person at all times. They were willing to go down fighting together. It is unclear whether Bonnie directly killed anyone (not all historians agree that she was innocent of the Grapevine murders), but she often (re)loaded the bullets that injured/killed others, so there's that. Of course, her family would say she never shot anyone. Newsflash: Families often lie for their criminal children and downplay/excuse/deny their crimes. Clyde's mother also lied for him many times. Remember, they continued to meet with B&C in secret and were later tried and convicted of harboring them.

All of my previous beliefs have been that Clyde never wanted, nor would tolerate hurting others-- never mind killing people nor animals. Sad, disgusting, and inaccurate account of some of the most admired outlaws of Americana. 🙄👎👎💔😾

For the record, the movie left out a lot, but most of the events depicted did happen; the filmmakers just used time compression and composite characters (as they warned at the start) to tell their story in a 2-hour TV movie. I don't think this is a 100% accurate portrayal -- it would have to be a 10-part miniseries in order to tell their epic saga that included various people and locales -- but for what it is, it's a benign introduction to their story. I like that Bonnie and Clyde, who were in their early twenties, are portrayed as being and looking very young. Really drives the point home that they were 'stupid kids,' but they were also chasing wealth and fame. Both were narcissistic -- hence all the photographs they took -- and Clyde had sociopathic tendencies (e.g., charming, manipulative, control freak).

Jerry Jocoy I absolutely agree with you!! I've been waiting for them to make an accurate Bonnie & Clyde movie ever since that 60s nonsense movie came out. And, you are right about WD. WD Jones liked showing off for the older Clyde Barrow..but he definitely did NOT view Clyde as a father figure. For a young guy, WD had a strong will & character..and he readily turned against Clyde when it meant saving his own neck. Some of the characterizations in this movie appeared comical to me..even though I know they were not meant to be.
@musicaltheatergeek79
5 жыл бұрын
*Budder Kupp* WD Jones was a scared teenager who hero-worshipped Clyde, as I'd stated, and was subservient to him. (Bonnie even made fun of him for being frightened during the gun battles and robberies.) At the first opportunity, after the Joplin raid in April 1933 (in which he was injured) he made good his first escape. In fact, it was while they were attempting to steal that undertaker's car that Jones went missing. He returned to West Dallas and attempted to return to his old life. Meanwhile, B&C kept trying to track him down, finally locating him less than two months later (in June) and pretty much coerced him into rejoining them. After the Platte City and Dexfield Park shootouts, he had had enough and escaped a second time sometime in September. This time, B&C didn't bother looking for him, but he was eventually arrested in November of that year. In short, Jones was a 16-then-turned-17 during his 8 months on the run with B&C, who were in their early twenties. Initially, he was eager to join them, since he'd always looked up to Clyde. They were from the same West Dallas shantytown. In fact, Jones had been good friends with Clyde's younger brother LC. But outlaw life was more than he'd bargained for. He was not as tough as he wanted to be. Both B&C treated him like a kid, as did Buck & Blanche when they joined later on.
@budderkupp1282
5 жыл бұрын
@@musicaltheatergeek79 WD Jones was a pompous little ass with a huge chip on his shoulder. He only ran scared when the wild gun battles ensued. WD was certainly not scared when he had a gun but his victims did not. And then, when WD was caught..he cried like a baby and told anyone who would listen to him..that Clyde forced him to do everything. WD was a bullshitting wimp ass liar who played the big man on campus when he could look cool and get something out of it. But then..when things weren't going the way he wanted..WD would run like a scared jack rabbit. WD was not as dumb or babyish as he pretended to be..only when it was to his advantage. He never truly changed and later in life..WD got himself killed because of his still bragging big ass mouth.

The "sort of" true story. Bonnie and Clyde's parents were poor but here they look like middle class families. This movie had some true-to-life scenes that were not in the 1967 film, but the acting here is rather weak and unconvincing. Some things are misplaced, such as Buck and Blanche actually joined Bonnie and Clyde before the car accident that burned her leg. Bonnie's sister was brought back from Dallas to help take care of Bonnie at a tourist court. Bonnie's leg never fuilly healed and she walked with a limp. So did Clyde after cutting off his toes to get out of work duty in prison. No mention of Frank Hamer. The Jones farm?? It was Henry Methvin that set them up. At least the actors here are closer to their character's real ages, and Blanche in this movie is probably more realistic than the always screaming Blanche in the 1967 movie. But the 1967 film captured the raw emotions of the characters and portrayed the spirit of the Depression Era much more so than this film. Decent movie by itself, but not quite a "true story." Would give it a "C" rating for effort because I feel like being nice.

Bonnie also hit Clyde, which usually resulted with him hitting her back. She was a scrapper and had a temper. When she was in school, she often picked fights with boys and bullied other girls. She was NOT some delicate flower, if that's what you're implying. She was tough! She survived several gunfights, injuries, and a car crash.

I hate how so many people treat their story as some beautifully romantic tale. As most of the people in the film said. They are filth. They robbed, hurt and killed innocent people. There is nothing beautiful about stone cold psychopaths on a rampage. Their quick end was too kind for them. They deserved to rot for a while before being hanged

All these year I've been saying the phrase "like Bonnie and Clyde", without watching the actually movie. 2020 I can finally say " let we ride thru life like Bonnie and Clyde" and actually know what it means.

She had a choice of either a boring poor life or an exciting adventure. Am glad she chose love and adventure. There should be statues erected across America for these two heroes/legends.

It's honestly pretty accurate. I don't glamorize them. But in documentary Bonnie had actually totally given up on Clyde he was in prison and had no contact with her. She was living the boring life for an extended period after she had meet him. They took quite awhile before they were a couple.

@@majik_man That's not entirely correct. They met in January 1930. By all accounts, both were instantly smitten with each other and became inseparable for about a month, until the law eventually caught up with Clyde at Bonnie's house. Not long after his arrest, Clyde convinced Bonnie to smuggle him a pistol to help him escape. However, he was recaptured a week later and sent to the Eastham Prison Farm to serve a 14-year sentence. Nevertheless, Bonnie continued corresponding with him regularly but gave up after about a year sometime in 1931, mainly due to pressure from her mother to give up Clyde completely and move on with her life. Thus, she began dating another guy who met her mom's approval. Meanwhile, Clyde was routinely brutalized by the guards and even sexually assaulted by another inmate. In time, he killed said inmate and then chopped two toes off of one foot in order to get out of work detail and escape the guards. Unfortunately for Clyde, his mother had already successfully petitioned the governor for his release, so the self-mutilation was for naught. He was released on crutches in February 1932 and immediately made a beeline for Bonnie's house, where he found her with her latest beau. Upon seeing Clyde, Bonnie ran up to him and completely ignored the other man, who was sheepishly sent home by Mrs. Parker. Afterward, Bonnie became a member of Clyde's fledgling Barrow gang, but that spring she was captured after a failed burglary and spent two months in jail. Upon her release in June 1932, she immediately rejoined Clyde. From then on, Bonnie and Clyde were inseparable for the next two years, until they were ambushed/killed in May 1934.
