A bonus video, what a great surprise, cheers! Love the wee balcony at either end of the carriage, another place on the list for our trip to Wales this summer :)

All looked a bit desolate. When I went some years ago it was very busy and had to queue to get into the Camera Obscura. It was great and you could see for many miles via a lens and mirror which you could rotate. Nice vid. Thamks

Cheers Keith, I seem to remember going years ago and was fascinated by the camera obscura. It's changed a bit since then but still some great views even with the naked eye. Not sure about frisbee golf though - seems a bit of an odd location really!

I went on that railway about 75 years ago, 😂, yes I am on the ancient side. I love your trips. I have looked to see where I could pick up National Express etc, unfortunately nowhere near enough to be convenient. Never mind, I can watch you instead!

You should've walked down, the views and different angles are great and the downward path is beautiful, winding round the hillside. It includes the bridge you pointed out to us on the way up.

Another great video. I do like a Funicular. Opened on 1st August 1882 and second longest in UK. Unfortunately didn't get a trip on it when I travelled that way years ago as it took most of day just to travel by rail from Nottingham to Aberystwyth. Stayed overnight, then continued by rail from Aberystwyth to Pwhelli. Doubled back to ride over the Ffestiniog. Great trip in Observation Car marred only by most of trip being in thick fog 😂 Then continued from Blaenau to Llandudno in standard guage.

Oh the observation car is fantastic isn’t it! You can do a ‘round Robin’ ticket from Shrewsbury to Mach then up to the Ffestiniog, Llandudno Junction, Chester and back to Shrews. Proper day out that and it was about £40 last time I did it. The Aber Cliff Railway they like to say they’re the longest (electric) funicular in the UK as they got rid of the water balance system a few years back now!! 😂

The carriage you travelled in was the Lord Marks before being repainted a few years ago. It used to be painted red and the Lord Geraint on the opposite track was painted yellow

Great video Mark. I have a friend who has studied in Aberystwyth but still I have never ever went to Wales. This one is a proper old school funicular. I would recommend you to ride the funicular between Como amd Brunate, which is by far the best one I tried, and besides, it allows you to get amazing views of Lake Como

Went up there with my first girlfriend. Took a picture of her and in the background they are literally mid build on the camera obscurer ! Guarantee that was built in 1984 / 1985 as there was literally nothing else up there. My other claim to fame is that my brother decided it would be a good idea to climb up the cliff face of it. This ended up requiring support from the air rescue and my mum hearing about it on the local news. Heady days.
