The 20" 502 Plus was the first ride cymbal I ever actually bought for myself back in the day. Also had the 18" crash/ride. Good cymbals that I didn't really appreciate at the time. The surface treatment really looked cool too.

Terry, hi. I've been drumming since the 1960s. And I've been a fan of John Bonham since 69 when I heard Zep's first album. In the early days I played with Zildjian cymbals because that seemed to be what everyone else played. However over time I realized that all the drummers that I really really liked play Paiste. So over the last 10 years I've been working to acquire Paiste cymbals, mostly vintage stuff. my latest acquisition was last week from a resale music shop in Oklahoma City. I got a 1960s era 602 20 inch ride. Now all I need is a larger 2002 or 602 crash. my other Paiste cymbals are a 1980s vintage 2002 17 inch crash, a set of 2002 John Bonham sound edge 15 inch high hats from 1977, and a 20 inch 802 ride. Also I have a 602 modern (but pre-Modern Essentials) 14 inch high hat top paired with an ancient 2002 (1980s) 14 inch high hat bottom. Oh and a 16" Alpha crash which i sometimes use as a hihat top, over a Zildjian A 16 medium crash.

Bonzoleum, I bought a couple of years ago a pst5 cymbal pack. What do you think about this series? Is really good? Is it similar to 502? Do you consider this a enter ou professional pack? Hugs!

Have you ever played any Made in England Cymbals ie. Krut, Zyn etc.? Apparently the ones stamped Standard Quality Zyn were B15. The regular Zyn were NS12 and Super Zyn are really nice B20 cymbals. Do you find many of these on your side of the pond?

Hey Terry, would you suggest the 20" Giant Beat Thin or Multi?
@bonzoleum

If you are going to play softly, or use it as a soft larger crash I'd say the THIN, otherwise *definitely* the MULTI.

Yes-the 20" RIDE is plate-y as a ride. If one could shave off 190 grams, it would be a nice crash.

@@bonzoleum I have had many Paiste cymbals but in the end I always sold them because of that b8 cold metallic sound. The only one I really liked was the signature Full 22 ride... that's why I am curious to know how the Signature symphonic 22 Heavy ride sound.
