Love your reviews! I couldn’t agree more when it comes to bias binding. It’s so hard to get right. I wish both of the books were available when I started sewing.

How I wish this book had been around when I had started! I love Cashmerette and have sewn quite a few of their patterns with great success! My favorite is the Webster dress. Not possible to imagine summer without it aaaaand it helped me overcome my horror of facings! ❤❤❤❤

Thanks for a great review! I really value your opinion on all things sewing related. I have sewn for awhile, but still love a good beginner book to refresh my memory on techniques and to help me explain things to other sewists.

Thank you for the book review, Saremy. I ordered it during the presale even though I’ve been sewing for 50+ years. It should be arriving today! I’m not sure I love the patterns…yet, and I don’t much like different patterns overlayed on the same sheet. My eyes aren’t what they used to be. 😅 It will definitely be a book I can pass on to beginning sewists in my life when that time comes. I’m happy I purchased the book! 😘

Don’t forget you can download the pdf! I’m not a tracer so I think I’d rather print the size I want.

@@SewSewLive I would ordinarily, but I’m still having trouble with the newest Adobe reader update. I’m not getting the sidebar/menu with the layers and print options. Been researching KZitem for different answers, but haven’t worked through them all. It’s really frustrating. 🥹 At least there are things to try! Yay, KZitem and Love Notions blog! (I have, of course, tried the Bill Gates reboot. 🤣

Thanks for the review. I have been on the fence about buying this as someone who is no longer a beginner. The flip through has shown me other views of the garments that I haven't seen before. I think I will add this to my Christmas wish list. The designs look like guild jumping off points.

I am planning to do the skirt first in a linen/cotton jersey (so with a 10% stretch). I will probably reduce a bit the asymmetry and size of the tie. Hard to tell without trying it first. I never dared to attempt a jacket and I am not sure about the style yet. I will clip the curves and practice binding! Thank you for the review 🌷

This was enjoyable and you made great points. My take-away is that I would like to have the instructions and some of the patterns just based on you flipping through so probably I will find more of interest.

How is the print? On her other book, it was a light GREY print and not black. A little hard to read with a small font, also.

Ooh. I feel like that is familiar, but I do have the other book too. I have given this one away to a local curvy beginning sewist so I’m sorry I cannot confirm. But maybe there is a way to see a few pages inside the book on a website. I know exactly what you mean.
