I bought the vintage animal and fairy tale sets based on your love for them. We love them and they give my second grader a good challenge for reading too. Her favorite is also Captain Kitty! 😊

Thank you, I really appreciated this video. Especially about the Treadwell readers. I am teaching my boys from the McGuffey readers, but then I saw the Treadwell readers and began to wonder if I should have them as well or instead of. This really helped me decide that I am good with the McGuffey's. Thank you.

Been looking for easy readers, thank you for these flip throughs! I see RightStart on your shelf. I love RightStart! How did that math work for your family?

@@ashleymurphy4813 We do all like Right Start but it’s too time consuming. I was struggling to get to math for each kid each day with it being teacher-led so I switched curriculum for everyone. I am keeping it in hopes that we can do them in the summer or maybe as the boys get more independent in other subjects.

My kiddos love the Treadwells. I printed them at home and some of the illustrations have color. Have you ever heard of the Pathway Readers? We use the Original McGuffey’s but I’m also planning on doing the Easy Peasy readers, which have the revised in them. The Easy Peasy Learn to Read program uses the revised. Our 4 year old won’t let me teach him to read from anything else. He loves his EP Learn to Read revised McGuffeys.

I have never gotten a look into the Pathways. Do you have them? I actually own all the EP Readers. They're great and so affordable! I use them for the kids' independent reading.

@@landofkakiakahomeschool we love the Pathways. They work like the McGuffey’s in that they introduce a set of words and then keep using them while introducing more words. We have the books through the third readers. After that, I believe they get more Amish in theology. That’s good to know about the EP Readers. I’m planning to slowly acquire them for our independent/read-aloud time. So far we have the Learn to Read reader and the first reader.
