I know this videos is old now, but how I do my manga journaling is by the story arcs, a lot of manga series are spilt by smaller story arcs (like 5 or even 10 volumes). That fit nicely together with a nice theme to them. As an example: Let’s say you’re doing Black Butler, the Circus arc would be one spread and then the School arc would be another spread. Of course that might be hard to apply to a lot of series, but that’s how I personally do it :)

It's a bit late to reply, but re: manga in the reading journal- I do one spread per series per month (like, all the volumes of Ancient Magus Bride that I read in April go on one spread). That way, I get to keep to keep the series together (and don't have to try to summarize each. Freaking. Volume.) while still keeping everything that I read in a month together. Yes, sometimes I do have floating volumes, which is annoying, but c'est la vie. I'd also recommend Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children series for good novellas! They're about... 150 pages a pop, give or take, and the whole series, starting with Every Heart a Doorway are really good. And hey, they're fantasy! 🍵

Novellas can be brilliant, but some can be terrible. My favourite novella series is the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire. It’s a portal fantasy series. The first one is called Every Heart a Doorway. I think you might like it. Your Stationery Shop spread is beautiful. 😍🧋

My favorite novellas are Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children series, and Alix E. Harrow has a fairytale retelling novella series that I've been enjoying. Both series are fantasy-ish adjacent--some of the stories take place in our world but feature fantasy worlds for large part of the stories.

for manga i do one page per volume. So one “spread” is two volumes. It is a lot of pages in the long run but I do like having little summaries for each volume EDIT: I started doing two volumes per page, so now one "spread" is 4 volumes. Mainly cause I'm running out of pages TwT

My most fav tea recently is Licorice Spice by Stash. Just perfect for winter. ☕ I'm rereading Little Women. It's such a lovely heartwarming book. I have The Stationary Shop on my TBR. Love all things paper and book related. I recommend The Taste of Ginger by Mansi Shah.

A great novella that I would recommend is And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer by Fredrik Backman. I read it this month and absolutely loved it. Its only like 75 pages long and I literally cried for 80% of it 😅 Another really great video Hedda, your reading journal continues to inspire me with my journaling process🫖

Lovely spreads! 🍵 The Stationery Shop sounds amazing and I will definitely be checking it out! I haven’t read manga but I do read graphic novels and comics and I personally make one spread for each volume, but I also don’t often read many volumes all at once. I LOVE novellas! Here are a few of my favorites that I would highly recommend: the Murderbot Diaries series by Martha Wells (there is 1 full-length novel so far in the series too but most are novellas), The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo (first in a collection), Weight by Jeanette Winterson, The Guest Cat by Takashi Hiraide (originally in Japanese, I read the English translation).

I absolutely love the manga spread! Inu Yasha was my first anime when I was probably 14. I love watching your different spreads come together. My reading journal isn't as varied since I just pick a theme for the year and use it in all my spreads, and I read so much I have to put multiple books on a spread. I usually give a full page to the ones I really loved or if I read a bunch of one manga then I will do a page for those.

I love the colors you chose for your spreads this month! The bright reds really popped and the lavender was so peaceful. As for novella recommendations, I have recently read and enjoyed Galatea by Madeline Miller (inspired by the ancient Greek myth of Pygmalion, who fell in love with a beautiful statue that he made and brought her to life) and Carmilla by J. Sheridan le Fanu (vampires! A fun read for Halloween if you ever decide to embark back into horror). ☕️🫖 As always, I really enjoyed the video.

Your reading journal videos as some of my favorites to watch here in KZitem. I like what you did for the manga series, I have no idea how to add a spread for the manga I read since I don't have much to say about them. 😅 Recently, I read "Even Though I Knew the End by C.L. Polk" and that was as solid novella. I prefer novels but a short novella is a good palate cleanser

recently in english class, we read the novella “chronicle of a death foretold” by gabriel garcía márquez. it’s very short (only 120-ish pages) and it’s honestly amazing, though very disturbing. it deals with a lot of heavy topics, history, etc, not to mention the timeline of events is absolutely wild. look up content warnings, like i said it’s very dark, but if you are ok with that then i would recommend it!!

That’s cool, nobody is forcing you to watch it😊 There’s lots of content out there without sponsored segments, including many of my own videos. However, some of my videos do have sponsored segments, because this is how I pay my bills. I mark my videos clearly whenever I have a sponsor, both in the title of the video, the first part of the video description, and also by using KZitem’s paid advertisement tag function, so I don’t think there should be any surprises when the video starts, but I’m sorry you felt like you were tricked. Have a lovely day!❤️
