I recently had a really bad head injury and I’m now having to deal with pcs ( post concussion syndrome) it makes me feel like I’m dissociating at times, I get pretty bad anxiety, and I’m sensitive to noise and light, it’s just a whole bunch of thing. This is all new to me so it’s scary. Your channel makes me feel safe when the outer world doesn’t, your calming voice and the familiarity of books help clear my mind and helps me try and stay present. Thank you so much for all you do ❤️

I listened to this entire video while cleaning up a small room that will be my office. While I will never get into non-fiction, I appreciate your ability to share such a huge portion of your life and your world as it exists upon those shelves. I am entering my 30s and have lived a very transient life without ever having a place to settle down outside of a laptop and coffee shops. I intend to build a study that can become a sanctuary and reflection of my mind. I have fallen in love with non-fiction books written by people who have lived long before me and experienced far more things. Books are a source of wisdom and this is something I have been unable to find elsewhere!

That large Norton Anthology of English Literature Major Authors was also assigned in my major authors overview lit class in second year (I went to Ubc okanagan in BC). I remember the prof assigning the giant version, but I was lucky that I had transferred from a smaller college that year and the class I had the year before also used it. BUT the class I had been in used the ones where it was split into two volumes, so I was super lucky I didn’t have to carry around the giant version.

Might be too late for this, but for Hemingway my favorite book by him is A Farewell to Arms. Out of the two you pulled, however, I'd recommend The Sun Also Rises, its generally accepted to be amongst his best work (alongside For Whom the Bell Tolls, A Farewell to Arms, and Old Man and the Sea) I haven't read either of the ones you pulled, but speaking from reading the other three that are generally accepted to be his best, if its even in the same realm of quality it will be a good read
