Thank you so much for. Can we think that turbo can do only 14 psi max boost when it goes with 7psi spring and tcv dyty is 100% or it can do more, but stable will be 14 psi?

Fantastic information. Been looking for a video that goes over pwn and duty cycle meanings for awhile now.

Would you recommend using a dome pressure sensor as well? I'd love a video on how to setup the sensor and 3 port valve in the Holley. thank you for the content! very informative and detailed!

What happens when i put manual controller between T and ref addition to 3 port setup will it go out of control or helps to build even faster? Just one mindf idea, if you havent done it do you realy know :)

If I want to use a 3 port MAC and electronic controller to compensate for wastegate creep and/or a poorly flowing exhaust, should I change the spring down to a smaller boost value than I want and plumb in the MAC? I'm comfortable with the amount of boost I'm SUPPOSED to be making, according to the wastegate spring, but I don't think I'm actually getting that boost for the reasons you stated.

If you’re having creep then there is no way to really control that. The Mac valve can only add on top. Best thing for you is to change wastegate placement and or size

Great video man, thanks for this. I have a twin turbo setup, what would vary in routing? Do I need 2 separate mac valves?
@greenshortsperformance472

Nope. You could do it the same as a single turbo just put a Tee in to feed both wastegates instead of the single.

@@greenshortsperformance472 thanks for the reply! So should I also give it source pressure from both turbos? Both turbos into a T to the source port on the solenoid? Thanks again.. Liked and Subed
@greenshortsperformance472

@@yallasoccer6280 you only need to feed the Mac valve with one compressor. You’d go from each compressor to that compressors reference port on the wastegate. Then tee one side to feed the Mac valve. Then out of the Mac valve tee again to feed both domes.

I need some help with the vacuum line routing I recently bought truck with lsx 408 with 88mm borg Warner turbo they have my vacuum lines ran all wrong from what iv read and researched just want to make sure I'm going in the right direction to fix it

From the compressor housing go to the bottom of the gate, then your controller can add pressure to the top

Great vid. To clarify, does your 'vent' let out the pressure from the 'dome' when the valve shuts or does the 'source' go out the 'vent' when the valve is shut. I think you explained it as the latter.
@greenshortsperformance472

For a 3 port setup you’re pulsing the solenoid to driver a certain amount of pressure to the dome but not all of it. So on 40% duty cycle 40% of the pressure goes to the output, 60% goes out the vent, and the input comes from the compressor source

@@greenshortsperformance472 thanks, so when it is not open to the dome, it is leaking to atmosphere?
@greenshortsperformance472

@@RotorKartel yes the vent port of the solenoid just goes to atmosphere. Sometimes people will put a muffler on it just to keep trash out and such

Hey mate new to your channel I've got a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R with a GT3071R I've just bought a Turbosmart wastegate actuator IWG75 dual port I don't have a port in the housing of the turbo it's still running the stock top mount I/C there's a port I've feed the boost control solenoid from in the past Would it still be safe to run that as a source Boost control is a Greddy Profec B spec2
@greenshortsperformance472

The key to this is making sure that your source to the boost controller is at or above the reference pressure. If they’re coming from the same place I think it will be ok.

Awsome thanks. So because the Mac valve is making fast adjustment constantly achieving any given setting....if say you had some back pressure or boost creep you can potentially get it under control using the Mac valve...the creep that is.?
@greenshortsperformance472
3 жыл бұрын
@@clint.garage.6092 creep can be tricky because that’s ultimately the WG not letting enough by. What’s nice about the Mac is that we can offset the duty (in OL) with rpm to maintain a flat boost curve where with WG only we often have a falling curve with rpm. If you have a creep issue it’s likely either too small of a WG or the placement is poor.
