Thanks for this more in-depth review of common issues for someone that actually uses it for not just using applications but also for note-taking. I'm trying to decide if this is something that I want to buy and it's nice to have someone actually discuss real life issues with the device not just common problems among marketed media. Really appreciated keep this up definitely won't recommend your channel to others.

Thank you for this video, I got one on Sunday and still trying to decide if I should keep it as well. Battery is down from 96% to 81% in little over 7 hours with screen time 2hrs 20 min (no frontlight - 17% battery), Feedly used for 9 min (11% battery consumption), Neoreader (16 minutes - 7%). Numbers don't add up but 15% of battery gone. I freezed all possible apps too. I agree palm rejection sucks. Ghosting don't bother me as I can quickly refresh with gesture. But i am very interested in your comparision to Note Air 3 B/W. I don't care about color that much too, but saw some Reddit opinions that build quality is a bit worse (especially screen protector). i am looking forward to your video.

ooh, man, yeah, not great numbers. How do you find the usage stats like that? Are those reported somewhere in the device? I agree about the ghosting. I made it so that I refresh with a gesture and it's fine. To be honest, I don't know how well I'll be able to discuss the build quality and screen protector as these are the first of these devices I've had. I'll do my best to look for differences with the 3 vs 3c though.

so is palm rejection still an issue?... PDF annotating is like among the most common use cases for eInk tablets.

About the 60% battery gone in 24 hours. I saw you had light on for 75% while the note already being illuminated by roomlight.. that may it be ?

Can't wait for Boox to release a netbook similar to Asus EEE mini laptop. But with 10,3 inch e-ink, decent keyboard and at least a week of battery life. No need for touch screens, cameras etc. Just a terminal where I could spin an iex session. Just imagine chilling in the sun and fresh air writing your LiveView and ssh into your server

Regarding PDFs: NeoReader has configurable zones where you can tap and it will switch to the next page. I have a Note Air 2 Plus and I noticed that usually palm rejection in general is enabled when the pen tip is just above the screen. Try holding the pen just like that with one hand and use your other hand to tap somewhere else: it won't work :D Also, Boox tablets are notoriously clunky in terms of UX. Battery life on the NA3 will be better because it lacks BSR. This model is better suited for those who use Android apps because it handles ghosting much better.

Ooooh, that is interesting and good to know about the palm rejection and pen position. I have started to notice a pattern of sequencing when the palm interference comes into play. I'll have to also check the pen position. I've opened the NA3 this morning and will be posting a video of that probably later today or tomorrow. First impressions lead me to believe that I'll likely much prefer the NA3.

Could you also compare the gap between the glass and the e-ink panel on your devices? If they are equal then it should be lower than the previous model.

@@gianfrixmg I’m honestly unsure how to do that. Any advice?

@@geolesselTry looking at the device sideways while writing, you'll see that the lines are not touching the actual tip. This is normal because of the frontlight, but in my case I get slight less precision when writing very small.

Quick switching between previous apps: I have a Boox Nova 3 Color and I use a gesture from the bottom to switch to showing recent apps.

Yes! Thank you! I did find this in the settings after I recorded this and now have it bound to swiping from the left side. It is very nice.

Thanks for the video. How does the Boox note 3 compare with the kindle scripe in your opinion?

Unfortunately I do not have any experience with the Kindle Scribe. After doing some research, I decided to pass on the Scribe because I didn't think it would be as flexible in usage as the other devices.

I would consider myself very familiar with Android but even I look puzzled when I see videos about Box tablets, can't imagine how it must feel like as a first timer. Battery life is a shame, let's see if the Note Air 3 is better at this.

Yeah, it is interesting how on the surface, iOS and Android _look_ kind of the same (if you squint). But beneath that, EVERYTHING is different. I agree with the battery life comment. I was hoping it would be better than it seems to be.
