I had a border collie growing up. He was happy to do any activity. Pulled me on skates endlessly. He had a curious behavior of chasing cars as they passed our house. He'd come back with a satisfied look on his face. This dog was the sweetest personality I have ever met. God really did something nice when he gave us border collies.

God did not give you the Border Collie.. careful selective human breeding did!

I love your quiet, efficient commands. I love how quickly the dog responds. I don't know about herding with dogs, but I'm still gonna say GOOD JOB!

The most intelligent dog in the world. They train themselves. But they require MUCH and A LOT of attention. Which is the loveliest part. Just beautiful animals.

I had a border collie for 15 years while I was growing up. I wish we would've had cattle for him to run, but he was still a great dog and amazing friend. I would never get any other breed as long as I live :)

My Tess's family herded cattle. I saw her grandfather and Auntie Dixie herding the cattle back into the barn one time and from the barn to the field another time. The dogs knew what they were doing. I didn't have a clue then. Some herded sheep. My Tess herded: hens, roosters, sqiirrels, chipmunks, ducks, geese, bicycling kids, my brother riding a lawn mower, children and me. Never bit anyone.

Thank you for posting the video I enjoyed it very much. You sound Scottish but the scene looks like Canada.Do you know from where the command bye and come bye originate? The dog seemed to go to the left when you gave those commands do they mean to go left?In the Thai language the sound bye means to go.I do not remember the shepherds using the commands there, here, this at the few sheepdog trials I have been to.Are the commands for cattle different?

Come Bye is the command for the dog to circle around the herd clockwise, and Away To Me is the command for the dog to circle the herd counter clockwise. Handlers often abbreviate these terms as bye and 'way

Dog listens well .. acts quickly to command . Like to see what the pup would to pushing cattle that are not pets and are regular ranch cattle.
