This time, despite Agassi knowing where Becker was going to serve, Boris still won. Wow!

Becker had brutal competition all the way, prime Lendl, prime Edberg, prime Courier, prime Agassi, prime Sampras. Fantastic player.

@@gyozop You forgot Wilander, Cash, Mcenroe(still in his 20s until 1989).. 1980s was the most competitive era in men's tennis. 90s was all about Sampras and Agassi went down between 1996 to early 1999. Sampras never faced a prime Becker after 1991.

Come on you guys, the tongue thing might have been right some of the time, but it was really just a gimmick from Andre engineered to sell more books!

@@zoltanrudolfyeah i agree. There is no way Andre or anyone can see a person’s tongue all the way from the opposite side of the court.

It’s a shame the espn footage didn’t have the whole match. And instead we get to finish with some even muddier visuals while listening to some Russians have a phone call.

These players are far more gifted than any of the current crop. Nova’s worked out how to win, however when you see Beckers volleying craft, free strokes and Agassi’s timing, it’s not difficult to see how racket technology of the past two decades ruined the game.

I hate to agree, but I agree. There is a certain satisfaction watching the big serves and the big forehands today, but it really doesn't compare to the versatility and the artistry of the game before racket and strings tech got out of hand.

They are slow as molasses and Becker has none of the consistency most of the top 50 today have. Agassi has a weak serve for being an offensive baseliner and doesn't defend well enough to have a meh serve. But yes, Agassi hits the ball like a terminator from both sides and Boris would serve most people off the court if he played today while having a good all around game.

@@marty2090 interesting points, how do you compare cavemen's tennis skills in the Paleolithic era to today's top players and racquets and strings? Oh, wait, that would be boorish and irrelevant. Never mind.

If I remember correct Agassi behaved like a huge ass before the game insulting Becker. There is an interview with Agassi somewhere . I have seen it . Something very out of the norm back then and even today. Becker than defeated him and gave him some criticism back which Agassi responded by being the ultimate pussy later on whining about being deeply hurt by the comments.

I noticed that too, Agassi looked relaxed and smiled and congratulated him at the net. Maybe it is because Andre beat him so many times.
