@@demirzengin_ mazeppa is nowhere near the hardest Liszt étude. From the same set there is Feux Follets, and of course from the 1838 Paganini set there is no. 4

I've been playing 13 years now and I was practicing Chopin's Revolutionary for 3 years till I got it to today's final version, but it's definitely worth to try, I love Chopin and the Revolutionary is my heart thing

I wish Godowski could have a second version, keeping the same lef hand and adding the right hand to it. How incredibly dificult it would be, but there´s always someone to play...

Berezovsky plays with such clarity (and this video's sound quality is great too)... a few other versions on youtube are a bit faster, but I think this is the best version I've seen regardless. The Godowsky version is stunning, as well.

I think this is certainly the best version of the Godowsky version of the Revolutionary Etude I have heard. Berezovsky's playing of the Chopin Etude itself is superb and stunning too.

I've been playing close to 13 years and can (sortof) work my way through the Revolutionary Etude. That said, the second half of this video is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen on a piano.

Despite tempo, Godowsky's version is enormously difficult. It is quite common for professional pianists to play Chopin's Etudes, but not more than a few have ever recorded Godowski's.

Since childhood I've been heavily leant towards baroque, still am, but naturally I love music; all kinds, heard so many records, seen so many artists, one better than the other but Mr. Berezovsky has brought Chopin and Rachmaninov closer to me simply by playing it. If that is not the gift of music I don't know what is.

honestly? I liked the second one he played better than the 1st. I like the 1st, but not so much the way he played it, the 2nd was cool, so of this performance, I like the 2nd better.

I agree the 'second', or the Godowsky transcription is much more controlled, stems from the fact that more concentration and a more even distribution of energy and power is required, where as the right-hand, independently delivers the velocity on its own.

Beautiful, flawless performance and good dynamics too. Right up there with Horowitz, Rubinstein and my all-time favorite Chopin performer, Claudio Arrau. This was the first time I have heard the Godowsky version, and I must say I enjoyed it: it brings out the deeper and lower voice of the piano.

Okay, despite the top comments, is it weird that I find Godowsky's left hand transcriptions to be much easier than the original etudes at times? This being one of them- Revolutionary for left hand is so much easier for me than the original version, probably because the whole song is configured into one hand... but maybe that's just me. That being said, it must be reiterated that Godowsky's studies are no cake walk.

HELL yea. That'd be a sight to behold. It just hit me that many of Godowsky's reworkings of the Chopin etudes are old school 'mashups'. Not necessarily this one, but man it's badass!

No, it's not easier. Godowsky's version is left hand only, which is a lot harder than Chopin's. Although Chopin's is faster, Godowsky combines all the parts into the left hand, which is extremely difficult to play.

Godowsky's version is fantastic in considering it is for left hand only and yet carries the melody and Russian spirit of the original etude so well. Berezovsky has incredible stamina!
