I went to borley with my ex partner! We firstly had a gentile stroll around the graveyard then on leaving I heard what I believe to be young children playing across the road from the churchyard! So I wandered over to have a look at them only to find views of open farmland????? Very peculiar 😃

It's possible that there was authentic paranormal activity in the Rectory, however it may have undergone a similar route as the Amityville case, in which true paranormal phenomena has been embellished and distorted to the point where the truth of the matter is hard to pin down.

I live localy to sudbury & been many times never seen nothing at the Borley church itself but have seen a figure in a white cloak in about 1998, That came out off a field crossed in front of the car in to a field opersate about 1/4 mile away, Me and two of my mates see it we turned the car around & shined lights in field & couldn't see nothing, Totally vanished it may well of been someone messing about but at 2am in morning you got to think it's a spirt of some kind as there weren't nowhere anyone could hide, For sure it sent shivers up our spines & goose pimples we never got out that night to look around the church as it scared us to.

Amazing how scientists all agreed with how amazing Harries work was & how haunted Borley was at the time but now they are trying to to discredit him....Those who never stepped foot into the rectory.

Harry Price's main reason was to disprove and discredit charlatan mediums and spiritualists, he knew all the tricks and disproved many ghost stories in his quest to find the truth, but when he couldn't disprove he always replied that there was no explanation he could give. Such a case was Jamaica Inn in the middle of the Bodmin moors in Cornwall, he spent a few days investigating the building for trickery and natural phenomenon. he found nothing of the sort. the horses hooves on the cobbled square and the creaks of the carriage and bridles and voices speaking in the Cornish language he couldn't explain (at that time, the 1940's, the Cornish language was practically extinct) and the unseen person trying the guest room doors was without an explanation too, the scariest thing about that was, he'd spread a powder on the passageway boards and in the morning they discovered no human footprints but only prints of a very big bird like a giant hen? The place was locked and the owner and Harry Price stayed in the same guest room at nights. You'll find that in his book of Poltergeist and Ghost phenomenon.

Marianne Foyster later admitted having an affair with the lodger and blaming anything unexplained on the haunting. She confused to hoaxing and said the rest of it was down to natural causes which discredits Price's work there.

All imagination--or so I thought until one night in an ancient cottage on the IOW my adult son and I heard a rushing of feet in the hall and the sounds of a passing presence. I called out, thinking it was my wife coming down from the bedroom but found her asleep upstairs. The weather was calm, no wind noise so what it was will never be known.

Probably all the alleged phenomena in which Marianne was involved were faked - and in any case she gave such contradictory accounts that her testimony was worthless either way - but the evidence for the haunting of Borley Rectory does not depend on her testimony or on any of the events that occurred when she and her husband lived there.
