Jamie Saavedra was born on Route 66 in Albuquerque, NM. Her parents brought her home in a Pontiac Catalina. She grew up working on cars with her dad and eventually grew up to be a diesel mechanic. She saved up and eventually bought her dream car: a 1967 Pontiac GTO.
“You definitely get that sense of Americana when driving an old American muscle car on Route 66,” says Saavedra. “This road really changed our country and how people think about cars, and it’s pretty special to experience it in a car like this, much the same way that it would have felt forty or fifty years ago.”
