If you've never seen Born Yesterday, don't use this scene as the gauge for whether to watch it. This is the low point, the one extremely despairing scene of an optimistic and very funny movie. The heroine overcomes. Good wins out.

so you're implying two women fighting, or 2 men fighting, or a women hitting a man is ok? Wrong, nobody should ever hit anybody is what to say, male or female, period! I understand you're making the case of violence of a man against a woman who are romantically involved (man/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, dates, whatever), which is almost exclusively male to female violence, and I get that and its fine, but I'm a guy who got into a heated argument with another guy years ago in a store, long story, but just arguing no fistacuffs, his girlfriend jumps in and pushes me hard and digs her nails into my face, I push her back she goes flying over a bench, gets hurt, etc. (nothing too bad), and everyone's on me "how dare you hit a woman", I said shut the hell up, this wasn't spousal abuse, just one PERSON defending themselves against another PERSON, male/female is irrelevant
