I watched another video, and the guy took out the magnet inside of the door latch and then stuck it to the metal inside and close the door and it worked

Interesting, this Bosch dishwasher was working for me, but usually it decides not to work. I believe the problem with mine is the actual display and the buttons.

Mine does this too. I just built a house and thought I picked the best dishwasher but I guess not. I'm so sick of previously reputable companies shipping absolute garbage. What a piece of crap. Edit: I followed the extended reset described below (shut the door a minute after reset then power cycle.) Now the display still shuts off when you close the door, but if I start it before closing, then immediately shut it and wait a minute, it runs. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would think this behavior is what people want. Maybe some do this, but others show the display at least a minute so you know it started.

Also, setting reset button is not enough and there is a process involved: 1) Press reset button for 3 seconds 2) Immediately close door for at least 1 minute (you will hear a beep after minute with door close) 3)Open door after beep 4) Turn machine on and then off 5) Press Start At this point you will be able to reprogram to desired loads, etc. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your advice. Performing this longer reset process fixed the problem I was experiencing with the SuperSilence Plus 39 dBA. The brand new unit would not initiate the washing cycle, but after the reset, it began working.

This seems to have worked to make it run, but it still shuts off the top lights and stays silent for about 30 seconds, making me think it turned off. But the red light on the floor is on, and it eventually runs.

So the problem is that we didnt realize the machine is working while the display is off but there is a red light (not blinking) on the ground which means it is actually working properly.

Sucks ha, it’s so annoying that they have this feature with lights go off, but how are you supposed to know what’s it really doing
@stevenmoss7988

The Bosch dishwasher does not need it’s magnet moved. The panel is supposed to go dark because it’s under the counter. Choose your settings and START and then shut the door. That will begin the wash. The red light on the floor will tell you the Bosch is running. Just call customer service before you do anything

2 years ago you posted this comment and I appreciate that bc it solves my question of why it would do that and it makes sense and really reasonable for theres no reason why the display should always be on of its covered

Most Brands have a troubleshooting toll free calling number. Had the same issue and turns out that Bosch designed door this way. When door is open, you will be able to see the display and when door closes, the display will not be visible. The machine will work once you program the appropriate functions and close the door. There should be a constant light at the bottom of the door which means dishwasher has power and operable. The reset button will not do anything for this built in feature that Bosch designed with door. Hope this helps.

Maytag. They just work. Sorry I didn't repair it, and got this ridiculous poor Bosch instead. - Ran through the night, to find it still running in the morning. - Fails to lock about every 4 months, never found what fixes this, just keep hammering on the doors. - Smells bad, doesn't fully drain, and company says yes, as designed.

I found out that it only runs in the dark, what a weird dishwasher, the display goes of after closing the door, it probably does not lock, but when i turn it on, it only runs at night, I think it has something to do with a red LED light at the bottom right, who knows

@@ZimaletaMotors They have timers on them, to run at a certain time. Possibly that was set, by accident. Red LED's purpose is to show that it's running, so it's not opened by accident.

hello folks, uh its designed to turn the display off when door is shut...why they designed it like this I have no idea bad feature...the display only lights up when you open the door...you're supposed to set the wash cycles how you want them to run, then press start and shut the door...then let it do its $650.00 dishwashing thing...If you ask me this feature stinks because you can't just glance at, or even press a button on the display to quickly check the cycles' progress, unless you physically open the door...What the F#@% Bosch??,

@@ZimaletaMotors lol yeah well I was getting, or better phrased...reclaiming used wood from a giant roll-off container at a modest apartment complex, and lo-and behold there was this Bosch 100 Series dishwasher thrown away, it still had the plastic on it! Apparently the inexperienced maintenance person thought it was broken because of the darkened display when the door was shut...I didn't know it was this reason that landed it in the roll-off...As an amateur appliance repair enthusiast, I surmised it might be a simple electrical issue, and a quick profitable flip considering the excellent condition....After inspecting the power supply electrical connections, I did however discover that whom ever wired the power cord during installation, didn't connect the neutral and load wires in the proper polarity...this wouldn't be as big a deal 10 years ago, but now mostly all kitchen appliances are "smart", or little computers, so proper polarity would most certainly be a major concern...so after correcting this issue... then hearing a promising "beep" when I plugged it in...at first I was disappointed and growing discouraged, but was surprised in learning about the very unusual and confusing display config....lol...I actually Googled the model number to see how much a replacement display would cost... when I learned that it was just the standard feature of this particular Bosch dishwasher... pricy too! Around $650.00 at Lowes and BestBuy...Wow! That's $150.00 more than a PS5 !??...I owned a Bosch electric jackhammer and have nothing but praise for its very functional, portable, versatile (lots of different, quick-change bits) and rugged design...I recommend the Bosch jackhammer...It's very well made and reliable...I give it 4.5 ☆Stars☆... The Bosch 100 series top display dishwasher is still a quality, and mechanically impressive appliance... with the display feature configuration creating a major design disaster for Bosch...which should never stand for a bunch of.... Bo-schite...🙃...If I was in charge of Quality Control at Bosch... this annoying feature would never have gotten past me...I would have opted for a quick glance button integrated into the display...and/or the option to turn this feature off...Si ? No ?

I still have this dishwasher, it does work, but I think circuit board is bad, because to use it, I must first rest it by holding start button for 3 seconds and wait till display says 00:01 then hit start one more time, close the door, and I can see a red light stays on, then it works, if light is blinking then must reset it again, sometimes I reset a few times, also other buttons seems not to work, it’s stuck on Automatic mode, but it does wash dishes well, but annoying that I must reset it each time
