Heads up lads. The Bosch Go 3 has been released recently, with a few upgrades. Type C charging, a light on the front, an upgraded chuck with a collar that you pull up to release. You can find them Ali for about 50us

Use mine everyday generally for Eicr's, second fixing and even taking apart panels. Perfect when used correctly! Setting 1 on the clutch is perfect for fixing back covers and accessories without applying too much pressure. Only thing missing from this overview is probably the biggest feature of the Bosch Go and that the bit end is pressure sensitive, meaning you only need to lightly push into the screw and it'll automatically engage without hitting the button. My only issue I have with the screwdriver though is the button itself is too sensitive, I often find myself barely catching it and the thing starts driving, even whilst in the tool pouch of my work trousers. Biggest pro for the driver, absolutely essential on Eicr's when taking the cooker switch off, after someone before has absolutely mullered the screw and lug from cross threading 🤦 Overall, fantastic bit of kit, when used correctly! Definitely saved my hands from cramping after all the eicr work I do!

I do EICRs of mostly schools and offices every day and find the Vessel Electric drivers to be the best for EICR work. They are ball end screwdriver shape, so take a second to get used to but are 100x more ergonomic and much nicer to use than the bosch go imo. I run 2 of them as my main drivers every day and only really need to use my normal drivers for stuff inside boards etc. Vessel 220USBS1U (1200 rpm and 0.4nm of torque) is amazing for faceplates etc, is an absolute game changer. Has loads of speed but 0% chance of stripping screws so no need to worry about snapping screws, faceplates, terminals etc. Vessel 220USB-P1 (up tp 480rpm and 2nm) is perfect as an all rounder. You aint gonna driver wood screws with it but its perfect for every day use. Both can be had off amazon japan for about 25-30 including shipping.

Hey thanks for the lead. I just checked Amazon Japan but prices are too high, about the same if I get it from Amazon Canada. They sell it about 40 Canadian and almost the same for shipping!

I had the same model. Could not get on with it. Felt a bit bulky and awkward to use. To powerful for electrical cowerplates, even on the lowest torq. setting.

Since you didn't read the manual Jordan, you also didn't discover that you don't even need to press the button to make it turn. It starts turning automatically when you press down on a screw.

I broke my wrist some weeks ago, and then decided to get one. Have been using it for some weeks now and really helps a lot, even after my wrist is recovered I will continue to use it I think. First I did not know it would activate when one puts pressure on the screw, but even that feature is helpful. It is also very light and the battery life is quite ok. Thanks for also reviewing it Jordan!

Use Max for drilling and set the torque halfway between the small screw symbol and the larger one which will cover most tasks. I actually removed the power button on mine and find it so much easier to control.

btw as an alternative to this bosch screwdriver the makita xfd11 has a superbly fine and delicate clutch which can do very low levels of torque, and with 22 settings on clutch (vs only 5 on the bosch here?). it is also a properl drill too... so more broadly useful as 1 single lightweight tool you might carry everywhere with you. seems like a pretty good alternative to this thing if you are prepared to spend a bit more money. recently got one off ebay last week from draculeze seller. in fact i dare you to a-b test them both against each other! head to head them on some real jobs and see for yourself which one you end up preferring to take with you. hee hee

After watching this I'd say a Dewalt DCF680 is a better tool than the Bosch. We been using 2 of the Dewalts in the plant I work at to install M3 x 3mm screws for about year now. Until using it I figured the "Gyroscopic" feature was marketing wank but the motion activation variable speed and reversing is a must have if you're installing machine screws. Battery goes dead just pop in a fresh 8V battery.
@elm-neo
Жыл бұрын
The replaceable battery is a huge advantage, but I hate the gyroscopic feature. It is a personal preference. Also, this doesn't have the torque of an 8V driver. I guess this is more for domestic general-purpose use cases as you need a replaceable battery for work.

This looks like those 2.4v screwdrivers from the 80s/90's - can't see how they're any more modern? Maybe a little smaller. I have learnt how to use an impact driver do this this job which is one less tool needed.

Once I got the hang of using my Milwaukee m12 impact it was hard to get on with using this 🤷🏻♂️although some people who use the 12v impacts go to fast a crack faceplates but when you get the hang of it I think the 10.8/12v impacts are miles better.. especially coming from doing 2nd fix on price 🤩

Not designed by somebody who uses a screw driver for their living. Ergonomically KRAP. Fwd / Rev switch arrangement slows the job. Torque settings aren't numbered. Did you notice that removing a bit was difficult, not enough grip to pull it out. Retaining magnet was good and strong but needs an ejector mechanism. Also the bit box was a struggle. So not living up to the original founder of Bosch's good design principles.

I agree with the comment on the magnetic bit holder. At this price point, it should come with a one hand quick connect that locks the bit in the holder and releases with the push of your thumb.
