Bosnian Serbs have said the town of Kljuc in north-west Bosnia
fell to Bosnian Serb forces on Thursday (5/10). Kljuc had been
seized by muslim-led government troops in last month's
muslim-Croat offensive. A Bosnian Serb news agency reported that
Bosnian army forces had suffered heavy casualties and had
retreated towards Drvar and Petrovac to the west. Recapturing
Kljuc will allow the Bosnian Serbs to cut communications between
muslim-held Bihac in the northwest and Jajce to the south. Bosnian
Serb warlord, Arkan, said the capture had been made possible
because of the combined offensive from his personal troops and the
Bosnian Serb Special Police Force.
