Did you know there's a royal castle in Mexico City? How about a city park that's twice the size of Central Park?
The Bosque de Chapultepec (Chapultepec Forest/Chapultepec Park) is a 1700-acre space that is home to Chapultepec Castle, three lakes, NINE museums, dozens of cafes and restaurants, a botanical garden, a zoo, a cave that is believed to be the entrance to the underworld, and tons of winding paths that lead through the towering Montezuma cypresses that date back to pre-Columbian times.
One of the largest parks in the world - the second-largest in Latin America - it's no wonder that Chapultepec Park gets 15 million visitors per year. I spent the entire day wandering through the forest, visiting museums, and enjoying the peace of this massive green space nestled right in the middle of the bustling city.
