As a person with Autism, I actually see it as both a gift and disability. While I may still struggle today with communication and am prone to hearing people wrong, unintentionally starting arguments over misunderstandings, or provoking people when I am just trying to be polite, I have still seen much potential in me. While my creativity might not be as good as other professionals, I still am able to impress others, and dream of going to their level as well. I always see how everyday things can be improved, for I started by just LEGO sets, then moved on to modding and restoring some toys that weren't meant to be disassembled. I dream of doing this to future machines, and my major is Mechanical Engineering. It all depends on how you see it. No human was meant to be perfect. Not even Jesus or God is. It hurts that nature doesn't provide us with perfection, but it is which side of it we see it as that makes it good or bad. Many famous people, including engineers, scientists, and inventors have it, including Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, and countless more. Without them, we wouldn't have assembly lines, Microsoft apps, and other everyday objects we take for granted. Remember, it is how you see your situation that makes it a gift or disability.

I appreciate the support here, Dhar Mann, but as an autistic person myself, I have to say: It IS a disability. Saying that it isn't is denying the challenges that autism brings. I have problems with social skills and paying attention. Yes, autistic people can be very smart, but there are still disadvantages to it. Plus, who gets promoted to manager after only one day at work? Granted, he's talented, but it takes a lot more than that to be a manager.

Love the way you're trying to support us, but I just gotta say it. As an autistic person, it's not a different ability. It's a disability. I'm disabled. Being disabled doesn't make us less than anyone else, so there's no reason to avoid the word. Better concept: Disabled, not less.

You should never be mean to people who have autism or just any learning disability. They are human too and they have feelings too. It’s not even something that they can control. They are born with autism So you can’t really do anything about it. People will hate on others, you just have to ignore it. And you shouldn’t be mean to others in general. You should always be respectful towards other people’s feelings.
