Most of the unboxings and demos that I’ve seen of GT-1000 Core as of January 2024 have been demonstrating its clean settings and models. It’s great to finally hear a demo of the hi-gain options, not to mention most of those features coming from inside the unit itself during the first 14 minutes instead of the effects loop.

Currently using this for bass a lot. It's amazing. I wasn't even a big fan of distorted bass sounds before that but I got some great tones out of it after some tweaking and it was loads of fun. I thought I would have to go with dual amping and splitting up frequencies like I'd have to do with other modellers, but I didn't. Dunno if that has something to do with the MDP stuff (still not sure if that's something I can actually hear, or if it's just marketing), but I really get a lot of clarity and definition out of this thing with very little effort even when cranking up the gain which is something that I totally did not expect in this price range. Can absolutely recommend this for bass as well.

For anybody torn between this and an overpriced Fractal, get the Boss, or swing for a Helix rack unit.. It has your bases covered without adding pages of worthless settings that are basically EQ. I’ve heard so many players demo this and sound great doing it that I had to get one. I ran it next to a Fractal Axe FX III (that I’m now selling) and it opened my eyes to reality. If This had a touchscreen, it would be game over for the 3 switch modeler competitors.

Yes! The Natural, Boutique, and Supreme amp models aren’t talked about enough. Maximum sounds good to my ears too, but I never go into that gain territory and don’t feel like an authority on that. My main patches use either Natural or Boutique + Supreme dual-amp rigs with the gains matched (always with a couple parametric EQs to fix that weird Boss midrange). Feels like a real amp-and better to me than my RV35 and Studio Pro 35 (sacrilege, I know). Everyone seems to focus on the “X” amps, but those feel kinda lifeless to me-like they’re trying to fight your playing dynamics in a bad way. (In hindsight, maybe we should keep this secret to ourselves 🤪)

I really like the idea of this, the size the processing power and parallel (dual) amp capability. Interestingly, the next version of the Ampero is going to offer dual amp capability. All the stuff I do is just me (solo) original tunes so I need a big stereo spread to make the tunes sound even listenable. I don't know why I am waiting to get the Core, I guess it's that possibility of something better just around the corner. Meanwhile life passes me by. UPDATE 2/11: Helix 3.0 has been out for a few months.. and the GT-1000 Core is starting to look more appealing for my personal preference. The GT-1000 CORE looks and sounds great.. but the UI seems so non-intuitive. Sure, you get 24 effect blocks.. but 21 of them are committed to something. And exactly WHAT are they? They need to list this clearly, and show clear diagrams of the signal path in all promo materials and manuals. The way they present this product is honestly confusing and frustrating, especially knowing they make great gear. So, here's what you get, in case anyone else is confused about GT-1000 CORE: -1 Compressor Block -2 Drive/Distortion Blocks -2 Amp Blocks -2 Noise Suppression Blocks -4 EQ Blocks -1 Master Delay Block (choose any delay algorithm, MISSING: "Slow Attack, SFX, Pattern, and Vintage Digital" from DD-500. NEW: Ducking/Gated parameters are now common for all delay types. Warp, Hold, and Twist are no longer common Control Assignments. Instead, Warp and Twist are complete delay algorithms) -4 "Generic" Delay Blocks (a bare bones delay algo) -3 FX Blocks (Mixed bag of extra effects, Feedbacker, Sound Hold/Freeze, Ring Mod w/ Pitch Tracking, all the Pitch Shifters, MANY more.. MISSING: "Pattern Filter," from MD-500) -1 Chorus Block (MISSING: "Dimension D, Tri-Chorus, Scanner Vibrato" from MD-500) -1 Reverb Block (MISSING: "Non-Linear/Gated/Reverse, SFX, SRV-2000," from RV-500. NEW: Ducking/Gated parameters are now common for all reverb types, except Tera Echo. Warp, Hold, and Twist are no longer common Control Assignments. Instead, Warp and Twist are complete delay algorithms) -1 Looper Block. 38 Seconds in Mono, 19 Seconds in Stereo. (1-Switch Looper, no Transport Controls such as Reverse, 1/2 or 2x Speed) -1 Expression Pedal Effect Block (Wah/Whammy) -1 Expression Pedal Volume Block The Other Objects/Tools: -3 Divider/Splitter Tools -3 Mixer Tools -2 Mono FX Loop Tools, or 1 Stereo Linked FX Loop Tool -2 Mono Speaker Simulators, or 1 Stereo Linked Speaker Sim (Also holds/loads 16 Custom IR's) -Oh, there's also a built-in LFO, assignable to any parameter. -Polyphonic Tuner, or Mute-Input-Monophonic Tuner w/ TRAILS (HX Stomp tuner is monophonic, no trails function) -Global EQ -Metronome(!?!?!) All Blocks and Tools can be moved. So yeah, this thing can clearly do a lot. 4 Parallel Signal Paths? Sure thing. Wanna use a NORMAL POWER SUPPLY with NORMAL CABLES/PLUGS? Yes, you can finally do that lmao. I hope this helps someone. P.S. Also, BOSS left out the Bluetooth stuff that the big GT-1000 version has. Bluetooth editor on GT-1000 CORE could have really placed itself over HX Stomp. Overall I'm split between keeping my HX Stomp or swapping to GT-1000 Core. I'll wait for the 3.0 Update on the Stomp. Also, Poly Digit/Beebo, and Mod Devices Dwarf look like super interesting Multi-FX/Amp "Modelers"/Synths.

For me, the real thing that's unclear from their docs is if the outputs are balanced. Missing the XLRs I get because of space, but a 1/4" TRS jack doesn't take up any more space. In 2020, that's a miss for me. This thing does use a LOT less power than HXStomp and probably doesn't heat up like Stomp does.

I found one pretty good video by a guy in the UK... kzitem.info/news/bejne/qJt90aSvn6CGhqA Curious as to what you may have discovered. Thanks, Tim

@@stk7778 Hi, I do like it. It's very capable. But it does take some time to get comfortable tweaking it. I'm guilty of not spending enough time to do this. I've been working so much overtime lately that it sucks. Most of the factory default patches have several effects turned on at one time... which sound great, and are definitely inspiring... however, if you are just looking for some simple patches that only provide one effect at a time... you will need to create them. So, if you don't have the patience to spend time in the menus tweaking to perfection... then this may not be the best solution for you. It does have great sound, amazing effects, and is very powerful. I just picked up a TC Electronic Plethora X3 because its quick and easy to setup some simple effects.

Hey Rabea, great sounding guitar! I got a couple of questions, what model guitar are you using. Is that one of your signature guitars? Also what speaker and/or Amp are you using? The tone is 6:44 is mad cool! Good luck in your future endeavors. Thank you for posting this. Cheers from New York City.

It's nice that consumers can choose between the GT-1000 Core and the HX Stomp. Nothing in this video is making me want to sell my Stomp though. Just doesn't sound that good to me. Great playing, though. But to me, this sounds more like $300 modeling than $700 modeling.

Yeah that thing always needed just a few more fx, and putting them before or after the unit wasn't really an option. The sy1000 is pretty much a next level gp10.

I don't think they will. The gp10 was an attempt to get people into synthesis at a cheaper, more guitar friendly price point. They have the sy1 for people to dip their toe in & the sy1000 for people who are all in. It's still such a niche market I can't see why they'd take the risk putting a product in between.

vubear The GP-10 was known more for being a guitar modeler. You are probably thinking of GR-55.

@@JimsMusicJourney I have one myself. Are you on the vguitar forum? Lots of insiders on there who communicate with Roland about these things. The gp10 was designed to be a vg99 lite for newbies to test the 13 pin waters. It's a great sounding unit but I find myself going back to the vg99 for its better flexibility.

I agree having only 1 fx slot and no fx send is a pain in the A$$ but I still love mine. I’ve done a ton of sessions with it lately.

Playing is awesome, but it sounds like there's too much presence on many of the presets. It gets kind of fizzy at points and definitely has that "modeler" sound. Pretty sure it can be fixed with changing the presence/resonance/EQ. Hopefully you'll get a chance to play with one and create your own presets, 'cause it sounds like all of the basics are there and just need tweaking.

No matter the modeler, if it has a high cut on the EQ, I set it anywhere between 3k-6k depending on the tone.

@@Scott__C Good call, Bill Ruppert talks about this on the vguitar forum. Using modellers, we have to dial out the frequencies that a guitar speaker naturally would.

Its very nice. I have an ES8 and miss some effects from my beloved GT8... the question is, MS3 or GTK core? Each can be extracted from my big stationary board to do small gigs... but core is allways converting the signal... and I kind of love being straight to the amp... MS3 still apealls to me.
