Thank you. Sounds excellent, A great addition to the pedal.

Could you do a demo of the delay engine built into the other settings? I haven't heard a demo of it but I love the concept

Manne hmm im really considering getting this reverb, altough I have the Immerse, blueSky and BigSky I love the fact there are built in two reverb effects that you can use at the same time and delay at each settings.

I have a question. If I wanted to have just one set of repeats, for example, if I had heads two and three selected, but want the echoes to stop after head three (one run through) how would I achieve that? On the old 501, there was a button that toggled between one run and multiple. For clarity (this is hard to describe)… If I play a staccato chord, I normally hear the direct sound then that of heads 2,3,nothing,2,3,nothing,etc with diminishing volume. What I want is, direct,2,3,stop. The purpose is to create a 1-&a 2-&a 3-&a type thing playing only the quarter notes. My current settings are bpm 140, heads 2+3, note quarter. Direct is essentially head 0, so the timing should work, but it’s the volume that odd. If I turn down the intensity to 0 I get one repeat per head like I want, but it’s too quiet, even with echo volume at 100. Ideas?

I don't have this pedal any more so I can't try it out myself. But it sounds like you've accounted for all the variables that SHOULD make that happen. Echo Volume, Intensity (IE Feedback) and effect level. If there is a Direct Level, I'd make sure that's the same level as the effect level.

@@TriPedalReviews I plan to test further today. I may have a misunderstanding on how the heads relate to the time set. I’ll post an update for this interested later.

Hello my friend. Do you remember if this one has a send/ return fx loop to add fx just on the repeats? Thank you.

No FX loop on this one.

@TriPedalReviews Thanks mate, it's such a shame that so few pedal come with fx loops, I find them extremely useful, especially in delays and reverbs. Traded my pladask draume v2 for a hologram microcosm. Although it's not as advanced as Mutable instruments Clouds, it's a nice sounding pedal. Could be better if it had separate wet, dry knobs( like many pedals with just a mix knob the more you increase the wet the dry gets lower in volume) and ideally a separate master volume knob with a clean boost. Filter, resonance, modulation speed and depth are also on the conservative side. Still I don't regret the trade as I generally find it very hard to use any reverb for the sounds I create. I spend hours tweaking it and the moment I switch it off everything sounds better in my ears. I know many people find the same with eq pedals, but I love eqs, especially parametric ones.

Hello Boss!..please make this unit capable of stereo delays like "pingpong" etc.
@FedericoMK

you can make it ping pong with this fw already. you need to use stereo input and then use the parallel output (A in left, B in right) with two different delay time signatures.

I bought the Flashback delay (it has the ping pong on the selector switch) together with the RV 500 at the time. It saved me from having to do menu dives to mix delay into the Boss reverb.

Do you find the RE-20 to sound closer to a tape Space Echo? Am looking into getting one of the boss pedals and I'm unsure which.

@@danvandal4127 I only have references about a real Space Echo from Radiohead records. The Re-20 has a preamp that makes it sound pretty close, but you must live with a digital signal conversion even in bypass mode

Sounds really cold, flat, tinny and metallic. How can Boss justify the high price tag on this? I would have jumped on this if the sound had delivered.

IMO the thin sound is the result of whatever amp sim/software the demonstrator is using. Sounds direct and stale. But I'm sure it's in the I/O

@@codysifford5470 - Hey, I've actually played through this pedal since I commented. The tone was pretty consistent with this demo. The buffers on boss pedals are notoriously thin and metallic sounding. While this pedal is an improvement because it can be true bypass, the tone of the repeats is still pretty thin and boss-like.

Set the treble to -50, then go from there. Boss made some presets sound really thin at 0, but it can be adjusted for the better.

Like their (parent?) company Roland with their synths, the stock presets undersell the 500 series pedal. EQ and modulation is your friend and there is a lot of tone shaping to be had here. Like so many Boss/Roland products they are often not fully appreciated till long after their initial release.

@@jemandthemysteryA lot of gutar players are scared to death of EQ for some reason. every complaint about boss that i read its obvious this person doesnt know how to EQ. this pedal has extensive EQ options on every algorithm. some synth players are like this too. scared of learning how an EQ works.
