This episode takes place in Tarangire National Park in northeastern Tanzania, Africa.
A leopard lounges on a baobab branch. A herd of impala arrives, and two males begin to fight below the tree. The leopard pounces, but misses by a fraction of a second. Early next morning, the same leopard is seen back in his tree, eating the remains of a kill he evidently made after that. Lions are also seen resting in another baobab tree, blissfully digesting a large recent meal.
In the distance, a herd of stampeding buffalo approaches. One of their number has just been brought down by a pride of lions. As the lions settle down to eat their prey, they are attacked by a swarm of tsetse flies. Fleeing the insects’ painful bites, the lions all run up a tree.
A version of this film was first broadcast as an episode of Amazing Animals in Japan in March 2002.
