I was driving a Boston cab during this time to pay for college. Drove 4 days, 12 hours a day with full time school for 3 days. I ran into Italian mob, Irish mob, coke dealers, crack dealers and prescription runners. No one told you what they were doing you just figured it out by where you picked them up, dropped them off and how they talked in the cab.

This was when crime in Boston was at its highest, but it was the 60s when it increased the most, by far. There was 4 times the rate of violent crime in Boston in 1970 as compared to 1960.

Yeah, you notice when it came to that story about the child's student. No one spoke candidly about him killing his own wife. They just sort of blend out
