Hey CDK-I have a suggestion for you, to do a future video...I'd be VERY interested in how you first began your quest for relics and old ''stuff'', and how you came about the work you do in your ''leisure''. How did you acquire your knowledge of history(especially the geneology videos), of events AND the amazing finds you incorporate in each and every video? You really are amazing!

Thank you for your kind words. I need to do a behind the scenes video. In case you are interested I did a live stream with fellow youtuber Digging Canuck here. Its went well and I was happy to be a guest on the show. kzitem.info/news/bejne/rZ2J0KiHqaOcdKQ

@@countrydirtkid4451 Oh wow...thanks so much...somehow I actually DID miss that one! I've been watching your channel for nearly 2 years now(I first got hooked with your incredible 1800's Christmas tree and then your home made Christmas Toy videos). I LOVE your geneology videos as well! I'm just an old lady now...never got to do even a fraction of the things you've done, but you never cease to amaze me.So long as you continue to make videos...I'll gladly continue to watch, and live out my dreams, through YOU! Thanks again, I'm sure making/taping/editing these videos is all some really hard work (not to mention digging up 20+ wheelbarrows full of dirt from a huge old privy)!! Carry on, son!!!

I know a privy was often used to discard all kinds of waste, but somehow finding a chicken bone gives me the idea of someone who like Gramma's cooking so much he stole a piece, and sat with pants around his ankles munching on chicken. I can't help but giggle at that. What an excellent bottle find, by the way!

I think that way too. Its weird that only one whiskey bottle was found here. It was like someone was hiding drinking on Sunday or something like that.

@@countrydirtkid4451 Mmhm. You mention another trope I've always found odd: Drinking on "The Lord's Day" as if any other day makes it any better or worse.

Just an idea. Grind the tip of the probe to a point and then thread it. That way you can spin on a nut. Reason is it will go into the ground a LOT more easily. My dad came up with that idea back in 1962

I replied to this comment a few weeks ago and it never posted. Thank you for watching. I cant believe that people were bottle hunting privies back then. I have seen that set up before I just didn't think about tapping the rod. Thanks for posting that

Do you ever find petrified poop when digging outhouses?

Never, not even in the newer 1940s ones. I do find remnants of cloth and wood as well as coal ashes.
