It was at a time where the manufacturers were still wanting pretty high dollars for new, and the used market was pretty soft, so yeah, we saved a bunch of money, so I feel OK with trying some not so normal upgrades. The one I'm most excited about is that I replaced the bad working AC with an off-grid mini-split that's working REALLY well. Thanks!

the amount of brand new ones I've delivered that had many issues out of the factory... I'd buy old/used even with a few issues. Granted, your hastiness cost you a few repairs, but in the end you'll know it inside out. Great work, and you have to worry a lot less about messing things up. Keep it up Holmes!

You know, this WAS a thing that we thought about when we decided to buy used as well. Since we were going to purchase and then immediately take across the country, we wanted one that was already "shaken down" because we've heard that new ones can be just as bad. I forgot to mention this in the vid. Thanks and have a good one!

Wow, your attitude and willingness to step up to the plate to do the fixes and be an example to your sons are very encouraging. My wife and I met you at a show in Orlando, Florida, earlier this year, but you were by yourself. We recorded you and added you to our KZitem channel. I hope to see you again in the future. Not just a “used” issue … it’s an Alliance issue. They have poor Quality Control .We have a 2022 42v13 with gazillion issues and we have only used it 2 times a year for one week at a time we keep it hooked up and at our home. Too many issues to list . It’s actually at dealer for last 3 weeks then goes to factory in July

Sorry to hear that! I hear good/bad things about Alliance. The reason I looked for one is that I saw a KZitem video of a guy doing a factory tour. He pointed out how Alliance special ordered their frames from Lippert with more structure to them. After knowing some folks that had frame issues, that's why I looked into them

@@WeCanExploreIt good luck … we have had zero help from factory and all are warranty items . I had to literally demand for them to allow us to make appt for cracked wall because I wanted factory to deal with it . They made us take it to speaker for 4 th slide repair but said we could bring it to them for the cracked wall . Guess some get better CS than we get . We also bought because of what we read and “factory tour being all about “quality “ . Maybe since you have a voice on YT u will be one of the ones that get good service . We on selling as soon as all the repairs are done … thankfully we have a forever warranty to transfer to new owner …

@@Lisa-qu5rv appreciate the heads up! Hopefully you can get a resolution quickly with yours. I'm hoping to never have to bring it to the factory. If something does happen, I'm sure I'll be tearing it apart and making a video out of it LOL. Take care and maybe we'll see you out on the road someday.

I'm curious if you have any indication as to why the rear garage was rotted out? I've got a 2023 Valor 42v13 and overall have been happy with it and Alliance as a company (purchased new 2023 unit, so not a covid build like it looks like you have). That said, as much as I'm seeing improvements, you also need to know what to look out for. I've not seen the garage rot in the newer builds, but that could be because they are so new. Were you able to trace where the leaking came from or did you just replace and call it a day? I'd like to look into mine as well to see if I have similar issues brewing.
@WeCanExploreIt

@603Cummins Funny that you asked because no, I haven't been able to trace why that floor was rotten. I looked everywhere. The floor at the top of the ramp part was just fine, and under the middle, right where my foot went through, there was standing water that the vapor barrier was trapping between the frame and the bottom portion of the ramp. So, in reality, it could have come from anywhere and traveled along the vapor barrier and landed at that bottom portion. I purposely left the vapor barrier loose and away from the side of the camper so I could investigate further. I looked after a few heavy rains and everything looks dry down there, so at this point I'm at a loss as to why that rotted out like that. I replaced that cheap chipboard with doubled up 5/8" green plywood to at least give me some time if it does happen to leak again.
@603Cummins

@@WeCanExploreIt I'm taking a total shot in the dark here, but if you can, I'd take a look under there again and see if more water has collected under the middle (perhaps with a small automotive inspection camera). I'm wondering if there is another leak due to the camper not being winterized. There are water lines that lead to the garage for both the washer/dryer install, as well as the rear bath. One of those could be busted below the floor at an elbow. If the previous owner never winterized the unit, it could be that this was going on for some time without their knowledge.
