This campground has been on my bucket list for a long while. I was particularly interested due to the fact that you need to climb up a fun trail to reach the campground. The road there was mostly paved, but did have some rutted areas. I was able to reach the campsite with only 2WD and minimal clearance.
This is a primitive campsite so do not expect there to be running water. However, there are working restrooms nearby. We made sure to bring a lot of water and for two days. The campsite offers a lot of space between you and neighbors. We were lucky enough to go there on a weekday and found the site to be mostly empty.
The site is gorgeous and offers great views of the Banning Pass and Mt. San Gorgonio. There was a lot of bugs, mainly flies around when we visited in June. So much that we had to wear our face bug nets during the day. Overall, this is an awesome campsite and we would definitely return.
