My dad went to Afghanistan from 2016. He always would write to me about how he was doing, stuff that happened, and how he missed us.On January 17th, 2019, he had his right leg blown off from an IED. He came back home a few months later, with just his left leg, but he was proud of it. He was such a funny man, and loved this band. Before he left, he played this song on his guitar. He was a sergeant, and died just a few weeks ago from a stroke. This was the song played at the funeral, and reminds me of him all the time. Sergeant David, 0331 MOS. Rest In peace, dad. Edit: Thanks for the support all of you. His birthday is tomorrow :).

As someone who has been infatuated by historical events for his entire life, and dedicated his entire academic career to studying history and politics, this style of media is one of the most unique and enthralling blends of social history with the events themselves. It's so easy to be disconnected from these events when reading about them they so easily become mere facts, statistics. Growing up during the 'War on Terror,' hearing this music (and actually fucking love Green Day, one of my favourite bands) blended with combat audio adds a weird level of despair for our modern world. We try so hard to bury ourselves in the norms of our societies, while our taxes go toward leveling the cities, toppling the governments, and slaughtering those less fortunate than ourselves. This world truly is fucked. I love the Insurgency Sandstorm audio by the way
@aleksandrasmiksenas317

I believe that it's a matter of perspective more than anything. The Fight can be considered as good. Toppling genocidal Dictatorships and Slaughtering Murderous terrorists. But then it's all bureaucracy and mistakes that are inevitably made that do the harm nobody wanted. And then it's a long war with no good ending. Maybe it's just the way the world works. Nothing will ever be perfect but that doesn't mean it's all bad. The intentions are good most of the time.
@mattgames7543
2 жыл бұрын
@@aleksandrasmiksenas317 Anything can be made good. Putin's war in Ukraine, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Nazis made their war 'good.' I fundamentally believe that it is our duty as citizens of this world to analyse these events for ourselves, and make objective and unbiased opinions. When you understand that 95%+ of the taxpayer's money spent in Afghanistan and Iraq went to arms manufacturers with direct and indirect links to Congress and the Senate, you begin to realise these wars aren't for the sake of toppling dictators, but for making a profit. the CIA has installed more dictators than it has removed, and the wars in the middle east have claimed over 1 million innocent lives. The notion that there exists a 'good guy' on the world stage, a 'good country' is infantile and stuff of fantasy. No matter where you live, your taxes fund suffering. There are not good intentions, I hate to say it but there aren't. Saddam was a bad man, but what came after was worse. The last war fought with good intentions was WWII, and even then half the world only joined in when they had to or when it was beneficial to them.

My last 1SG deployed to Ramadi back in the day. In Syria we would be hanging outside and he would be telling us stories about the shit they went through. Always made me think about how compared to that what we were doing during my first deployment was just nothing and shouldn't even count

R.I.P. for the fallen, such games should not exist. 🙏
I was kept up thinking about this for a long time before I fell asleep last night. There is something so deep and telling that I can't quite articulate growing up witnessing 9/11 on the tv, the war on terror, for a time always hearing about so and so's older brother who was killed in Iraq or Afghanistan, and meanwhile playing Halo 2/3 and COD 4 so casually and developing an intense feeling of patriotism as such a young age. Now I'm 27, just married and expecting my first baby later this year and I've come out on other side realizing that our government spent 20 years killing the best of us in a useless conflict much like it did my grandfather's generation (and frankly have done in most wars perhaps since 1812), 9/11 was not what they told us (to put it gently), and now today are trying to get me to hate Russia and "White supremacists" when people can't even feed their kids because the formula is gone and so many mothers have been poisoned with plastics and whatever else in our food and water supply, young couples that (if they resisted the cultural programming to never have families and just watch porn all day) get married and want to buy their first home, they can't because the nice little single family house that was $180K a year ago just sold sight unseen to someone in California for $900K, and so on.

You just put into words the feelings I've had for the last 6 years. I joined when I was 18 because I genuinely thought It was right. Then when i saw it for what it really was, all of it, i couldnt wait to get out. I'm 24 now, and man I couldnt have been more different now than I was at 18. Fuck wars for profit, fuck our shady ass government for what they do to us, and fuck these corporations that puppeteer our government against us.

No, a song by the Ukrainian band Okean Elzy "Місто Марії" (City of Maria) would be better. This song is just about Mariupol. And besides, Kino is already boring, and it's more of a Russian band.

After seeing all the facts about this conflict, i came to the conclusion neither side is good. The UN should have condemned both countries. Ukraine for waging a violent war in Donbass since 2014, Russia for their invasion of a sovereign nation.

@@burgundec7003 Saying kino is boring is like saying blood is black. Its false lol. Also the song ''gruppa krovi'' is incredibly anti-war and this song is not for only russians but for every old-soviet nation which includes modern day ukraine.
